After getting through the holidays and doing some reorganizing, Mountain Creek Speedway will crown it’s 2022 track Champions at the Balls Creek Lions Club, January 28th at 12pm. Between Saturday flat kart competition and Sunday outlaw kart classes, eighteen different divisional champions in all, will walk across stage as a 2022 Mountain Creek Speedway track champion. Each driver will receive their championship trophy and a racing jacket or suit from SUBLMTD pertaining to division. There will also be a drawing for three of the eighteen champions to win a brand new Bell Helmet from Bell Helmets Pro Shop in Mooresville.
In the past three seasons, Mountain Creek Speedway has been making improvements to the speedway itself and the facility like new observation decks, expanded pit areas, paved grids and most recently, live streaming and new steel walls. The track is currently switching into high gear for the upcoming 2023 season with new changes and additions coming to be released in the coming weeks.
The Balls Creek Lions Club is located at 3705 Little Mountain Rd. Newton, NC 28658. When the track isn’t racing, it’s busy Monday through Friday with testing and practice sessions for everything from flat karts to national midgets. The track will also be available for testing and practice days throughout the year. Those wishing to reserve rental or testing days can contact Jason Queen at (828)413-6890 for details and availability.
