On a cool clear evening at the fairgrounds, 2022 pro late model champion Dylan Fetcho was the class of the field. Starting on outside of the front row next to Carson Brown after his post-qualifying redraw gave him the No. 2 starting spot, Fetcho would take the lead in turns 1 and 2 and never look back. Not to say Fetcho never had any pressure as his teammate Bryson Shaffer would quickly move up to the 2nd position. Meanwhile polesitter Brown would fall back to middle of the top 10 as the race went on.

After the first caution brought out by the No. 9B of Cody Bently wrecked on the back stretch, Fetcho would choose the outside for the restart and again regain the lead with teammate Shaffer behind. During the extended green flag run that would follow, the 7 of Jackson Boone would steadily make his way to third place before he would bring out a caution with 32 laps remaining in the race.

After some late race cautions the 29 of Hunter Wright would get around Shaffer to attempt to reel in the leader but would come up short as Fetcho could not be caught.
“Started on the front row which helps a lot. Getting that clean air helps a lot here at Nashville. Got out front and lead every lap.”, said Fetcho after celebrating with his team and family in victory lane. Dylan would go on to say “Late in race the 29 started to come on strong and I was a little worried as he looked really fast.”
Fetcho looks to build off winning the opening night race to carry that momentum onto the next event.

1/4- Mile Action

On a night where the 2022 champions were honored during pre-race festivities, it was no surprise that the big track wasn’t the only track to see the 2022 champions win on opening night. The 1/4-mile track saw three champions from last year bring home opening night wins as well.

The limited late model race would get off to a rocky start with wrecks happening on the first two attempts. This would not bother the reigning champion as Kevin Rollins would lead wire to wire to take down the win. In another caution riddled feature, last year’s semi-pro legends champion Michael Crafton would notch his 1st win of the 2023 season. Oliver Cordell would also take home the hardware in a rather uneventful race in the legends pro masters division.

In other 1/4 mile action, Ray Gann parked his front runners No. 31 in victory lane as well as Landon Thrasher winning in bandoleros, John Bradley in pure stocks, and Philip McCord in street stocks.
