Music, Fireworks, Fun & Racing: Fonda Speedway July 1 ‘Firecracker 50’ Has It All!

FONDA, NY – The countdown to ‘America 250’ is on and Fonda Speedway serves as a starting point for the July 4th celebration this Wednesday, July 1.

The Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco ‘Firecracker 50’ takes over the venerable fairgrounds Wednesday and it’s more than a race: it’s an event!

A pre-race party kicks it off in the Entertainment Building with well-known Capital District band ‘Tame the Rooster’ Lite performing on stage. Food and beverages will be available in the Entertainment Building and Ms. STSS 2026 Siena Porter will be on hand to meet fans with posters available. Any ‘Firecracker 50’ event wristband (grandstand, infield or pit area) will provide access to the band.

For bargain-hunting race fans, ‘Early Bird’ admission is set for Gate 2 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. $20 grandstand tickets will be available at Gate 2 only during the special one-hour promotion.

In the air, a MASSIVE fireworks display is planned for the Track of Champions at dark.

On the track, the HYTORC of New York North Region STSS Modifieds headline the program with a 50-lap, $7,776-to-win feature paying $1,000 for 10th and $500 to start. Fonda regular Alex Yankowski, a series winner at Lebanon Valley Speedway in West Lebanon, N.Y., in May, leads the standings into Fonda.

STSS Sportsman of the Madsen Overhead Doors Inc. North Region race 30 laps for a $1,776 top prize. Following his victory on Sunday at N.Y.’s Brookfield Speedway, Tyler Peet is atop the point standings.

Also on the program are the Online Performance Parts/Stone Motorsports Street Stocks (20 laps, $500 to win) and Fonda Fair Four Cylinders (15-lap feature only, $150 each to Single and Dual Cam winners).

The pit gate will be unlocked for early pit pass sales at 2 p.m.

‘Early Bird’ admission for the grandstands with discounted admission takes place at Gate 2 from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Infield drive-in access begins at 3:30 p.m.

Pit gates fully open at 4 p.m.

All grandstand gates are open at 4:30 p.m.

Hot laps hit the track at 6 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m.

Grandstand admission is $28 for Adults, $26 for Seniors and Kids 11 and under are FREE. Infield drive-in admission (includes four passes) is $125. Pit admission is $45 (Non-Members), $40 (Members) and $10 (Kids 11 and under).

The Track of Champions Fonda Speedway has hosted the best in stock car racing for 75 seasons. The speedway operates weekly on Saturday nights from April through August plus several special events.
