MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Luke Baldwin and Walker Motorsports jointly announced today that Luke Baldwin will make his CARS Tour debut in the No. 15 Pro Late Model in the CARS Pro Late Model Tour race at Hickory Motor Speedway on Saturday, April 22.
Baldwin will pilot the entry for Walker Motorsports with support from Salty Dog, Furniture by Walker and others. It will be the first of three straight starts for Baldwin in the car – as he will follow the series to Ace Speedway on May 5 and North Wilkesboro Speedway on May 17. Additional events during the 2023 season are also possible.
Baldwin is off to a hot start on his 2023 season – winning two races and the World Series of Asphalt Stock Racing 602 Modified championship in February at New Smyrna Speedway. He will return to the seat of the 602 Modified on Saturday, April 15 at Hickory Motor Speedway for a 50-lap event, one week prior to the CARS debut. He also already finished top-five in a Late Model at Hickory in March for DLP Motorsports.
“I’m extremely grateful for this opportunity and couldn’t be more excited to work with Chris Walker and his guys,” Luke Baldwin said. “I had a blast in the Late Model last time out and I’m pumped to be able to do it again. I feel pretty confident going into it since it’s a track where I have some experience already and I think all of the guys at Walker Motorsports will give me a great piece. I’ll be running against a lot of the top drivers in the Pro Late Models, but I think it will be a good challenge, and we’re ready for it. I have to thank my parents, Salty Dog, Scott Anderson and Furniture by Walker, along with everyone else to make this happen. I’m blessed to have the opportunity to do it.”

He currently has a FURY Pro Late Model that he will be using to team with Luke and Tommy Baldwin for the effort.
“Luke can definitely drive, we’ve seen that this year already at New Smyrna,” Walker said. “Scott Anderson works with me and he is good friends with Tommy Baldwin and his team, and all of this just fell together. I’m fresh at this – never really done racing like this out on my own and it’s a great opportunity to get going. Tommy Baldwin can see a lot of things on a race car that the average person can’t see, he’s been around so long. We can set this thing up and get it going and all of our guys together will work on it to make sure Luke has what he needs. We’re going to try to make it happen out there and give Luke a chance to win.”
Any additional events for the team would be announced at a later date.
