Barre, VT & Naples, ME — Pro All Stars Series (PASS) and American-Canadian Tour (ACT) officials are proud to announce the most exciting and talent filled roster of Open Tour-type Modifieds to join the Northeast Classic at New Hampshire Motor Speedway since the event’s inception in 2021. Based on the tire orders through Hoosier Tire East, over twenty of New England’s best tour-type modified drivers are slated to take on the Magic Mile all looking to join a who’s-who of modified winners at New England’s biggest stage.

Inaugural Northeast Classic winner Bobby Santos III and 2022 winner Jon McKennedy lead the group of modified aces into New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Although unable to join the Icebreaker after the weather-induced schedule change, Santos is ready to get back behind the wheel of the Tinio Racing mount and make it win number seven at the Magic Mile for this dynamic duo. McKennedy, however, is ready to make it one spot better after coming home 2nd in the Icebreaker 125 at Thompson Speedway last weekend. The reigning NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion is also looking to successfully defend his Northeast Classic win from last April.

Among the other top contenders include Anthony Nocella, who earned his first NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour win at New Hampshire Motor Speedway last July, Woody Pitkat, Matt Swanson in the Gary Casella-owned machine, and Kevin Iannarelli in the iRacing ride. All-time Milton CAT Modified Racing Series wins leader Kirk Alexander is making the trip as is 2022 MRS champion Jacob Perry along with current NASCAR Whelen Modified Rookie of the Year contender Matthew Kimball.

“Both Tom and I feel that in our third year, the 2023 Northeast Classic will stand-out high and above the others,” said ACT managing partner Cris Michaud. “The talent within our growing car counts for all five divisions is looking great and we’re very excited about the new backstretch parking option for fans. All this, combined with the stellar weather forecast, has made the Northeast Classic a can’t miss event!”

The 3rd annual Northeast Classic at New Hampshire Motor Speedway is set to open the Northeast racing season at the region’s biggest stage. The American-Canadian Tour and PASS Super Late Models are each gunning for $5,500 to win in 50-lap feature events along with the Open Tour-type Modified 50-lapper worth $7,000 to the winner. The R&R Race Parts Open Street Stock Series will start their 2023 season with a $2,000 to win 25-lap main event while the Mighty Mini Series race in Round #2 of their inaugural season.

Optional Friday practice day starts with the opening of the pit gates at 8:00am with rotating practice for all five Northeast Classic divisions going from 11:00am to 4:15pm. Friday-only Pit Passes are available for $50 per person or $100 for a two-day weekend pass. On Saturday the pits open at 7:00am with rotating practice rolling from 9:15am to 10:45am. Saturday-only pit passes are available for $75. Grandstands will open for fans at 9:15am with the first green flag set to fly at 11:00am sharp. General Admission is set at $35 for adults, $10 for children ages 12-5 with kids 4-and-under admitted free!

For a new viewpoint, fans may park their vehicle along the backstretch to view Saturday’s racing events. To become a VIP, everyone in the vehicle must have purchased their General Admission ticket with an additional $50 per car no matter for one person, a family of four or a limo-full to take in the Northeast Classic from an all-new perspective. There are no Motor Homes or Campers allowed and we ask that fans follow a ‘Carry In, Carry Out’ policy to pick up any messes and ensure we can continue to host Backstretch VIP Parking for years to come at New Hampshire Motor Speedway!
