After a long layoff, the NASACAR When Modified made its way back to Richmond Raceway for the Virginia is for Racing lovers 150.

All last year 3 drivers Ron Silk, Justin Bonsignore and Austin Beers won 14 of the 18 races on the schedule. Fast forward to Richmond Speedway and your top 3 qualifiers were, Ron Silk, Justin Bonsignore and Austin Beers.

Ron Silk led the first 11 laps before Justin Bonsignore took over for the next 6 laps. Unfortunately for the third-place starter, Austin Beers night ended early after a trip into the third turn wall. Austin will have a deep points hole to climb out of after his last place finish.

Justin would go on to lead the race on nine separate occasions in the Ken Massa owned Costal Fiber LLC sponsored #51, including the most important last two laps to take his 41st NASCAR WMT win.

Ron Silk in the #16 Blue Mountain Machine and Future Homes #16 lead the field 7 times and looked to make it 2 in a row to start the season but could not hold off Justin.

Other notable drivers in the race:

Rookie Trevor Catalano who now has 2 top 5 finishes in his first 2 races finished third and is leading the rookie standings by a wide margin.

Bobby Santos III had a solid race in the #14 Advantage Trucks.com ride with a 4th place finish.

Jake Johnson would come all the way from the back to 5th after getting a flat early in the same incident that sent Austin Beers into the wall.

Patrick Emerling in the #1 Fleetworks Inc /LFR car looked as if he would give the leaders a run for their money. After being sent to the back on a late restart he would be involved in a crash with former Cup start Bobby Labonte, ending both of their nights.

The NASCAR WMT heads to Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park next weekend for the Icebreaker 150 for race #3 on the 2024 schedule.
