VERNON, NY – Feel the thunder.
Utica-Rome Speedway rolls into another Friday night of action on May 10 with Round No. 2 of the F.X. Caprara Car Companies Thunder on the Thruway Series.
The six-race series continues after the opener this past weekend at N.Y.’s Fonda Speedway.
The 3 Bastards Brewing Modifieds headline the full night of racing that also includes the Taylor’s Trailers Crate 602 Sportsman, Next Generation Graphix Pro Stocks, Fastline Performance Limited Sportsman and the Fonda Fair Four Cylinders on the half-mile outer oval.
The All-Star Slingshots and Junior Slingshots also join the Friday night action on the inner oval.
Savannah, N.Y.’s Matt Sheppard is undefeated thus far in 3 Bastards Brewing Modifieds competition with $4,000 on the line in this week’s 30-lap affair.
The Crate 602 Sportsman will race for a $1,500 top prize on Friday night and the Pro Stocks chase a $1,000 winner’s total for the Thunder on the Thruway Series event.
Matt Janczuk (Crate 602 Sportsman), A.J. Walters (Pro Stocks), Josh Coonradt (Limited Sportsman), Rudy King Jr. (Four Cylinder Dual Cam), and Wayne Russell Jr. (Four Cylinder Dual Cam) were all victorious last week in weekly action.
Chad Homan won with the invading M2 Metal LLC Crate Late Models in town for their first of two appearances in 2024.
Michael Maresca (Modifieds), Chad Edwards (Crate 602 Sportsman) and Luke Horning (Pro Stocks) were all victorious in the opening round of the Thunder on the Thruway Series.
The Modifieds, Crate 602 Sportsman, and Pro Stocks will follow a draw/redraw format for all Thunder on the Thruway Series events.
The Limited Sportsman and Four Cylinders will follow weekly handicapping procedures and the Slingshots will follow a draw format.
Gates open at 5 p.m., with hot laps at 6:45 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m.
Grandstand admission is $18 (Adults), $16 (Seniors ages 65 and over) and Kids 11 and under are FREE.
Pit admission is $40 (Members), $35 (Non-Members), $10 Kids (ages 6-12) and $2 Children (ages 5 and under).
The event will be broadcast live on FloRacing (www.floracing.tv).
