– 60-lap Feature $5,000-to-Win and $500-to-Start for Race of Champions Modified Series –

Jack Ely #81

Lancaster N.Y. – (June 24, 2024) – The Race of Champions Modified Series will make it’s first visit of the season to Lancaster (N.Y.) Motorplex this coming Thursday, June 27 for the running of the Ol’ Boy Cup VII in honor of Bill Colton, the original founder of the “soft walls” used at many speedways throughout the region now.

The Race of Champions Modified Series feature will be a sprint race, 60-laps without cautions counting.

“We are looking forward to Thursday” stated Jack Ely. “We’ve led a lot of laps at Lancaster last year and I was spotting for Austin Beers when he won the Whelen Tour race, so Lancaster become a place I’ve circled on my calendar where I’m looking to get a win in my family’s car. Hopefully we can put it all together on Thursday.”

Zane Zeiner of Bath, Pa., who is the defending Series Champion is also the current Series point leader by 25 markers over Roger Coss of Lafayette, NJ. Patrick Emerling of Orchard Park, NY is the defending event champion. Jake Lutz of Hamburg, NY, who won his first-race last season will be the driver of the car, the Advantage Motorsports 14 that Emerling drove in last seasons victory.
