CARSTEN DIGIANTOMASSO FLIES TO, THEN IN WALL’S GARDEN STATE CLASSIC

WALL, NJ – Carsten DiGiantomasso made the two hour flight from his Mooresville, NC home well worth it as he raced to victory in the 125 lap Gardebn State Classic at Wall Stadium Speedway Saturday night. Formerly of Jackson, DiGiantomasso took a job with NASCAR’s JR Motorsports after winning the opening night main event here on April 20. Saturday’s victory made it two wins in two starts for the popular Modfieid stock car driver.

While Holmdel’s Andrew Krause and Jarret DiGiantomasso of Jackson wrestled for the lead early Carsten DiGiantomasso immediatly began his climb to the from from an eighth starting spot. By lap 40 Carsten rode in third spot. 

After tire changes at lap 84, Carsten moved past his brother and to Krauses rear bumper. Meanwhile, prerace favoerite Matt Hirschman of Northampton, Pa. was on the move as he advanced to fourth. Carsten than ovefrtook Krause for the lead on lap 105. At that point Hirschman tried a three wide pass tpo advance that failed and he began to slip back through the field.

Carsten DiGiantomasso then fought off Krause through several late race restarts before nailing down the prestigious win. Krause, Brick’s Eddie McCarthy, Anthony Sesely and Ron Frees of Lanoka Harbor wrapped up the top five.

Defending champ Chris Silvestri won the companion 25-lapper for the Sportsman cars taking the lead on lap eight. Former champ Kevin Davison of Howell then challenged Silvestri to the finish, with Billy Both, Zach Lenardo and Quinn Trimmer completing the top five.

TJ Graves of Wall took the lead on lap three and repeated as a 2024 Fast 4 division race winner. Alonzo Morales, Joseph Pressey and Josh Berry were second through fourth.

Ryan Tidman led from start to finish in the main event for the touring TQ Midgets. Kyle Teraska, Zach Burd, Tyler Wagner and Mark Yoder were second through fifth.

After a week off to observe the Independence holiday, the 2024 Wall Stadium Speedway season continues on Saturday night, July 13, with the Modifieds, Sportsman, Legend Cars, Fast 4, TQ Midgets and Limited Late Models all in action. Qualifying is at 5:00 p.m. with main events starting at 7:00 p.m.
