The first midweek mayhem event of 2024 comes in like a lion Wednesday July 31st at Riverhead Raceway with the first School Bus Demolition Derby rocking the house.  A full program of racing featuring the Street Stocks, Mini Stocks and Bock Auto INEX Bandoleros will join all three of the track’s Enduro divisions, plus a Kids Big Wheel race starting at 7:15 pm.

Since their introduction at Riverhead Raceway, the School Bus Demolition Derby events have been extremely popular among young and old alike. This sights and sounds the 13-ton machines produce smashing into each other, over and over again is truly second to none. Anything can, and usually does happen. Frank “The Tank” Dumicich Jr. won the most recent School Bus Demolition Derby last summer and he’ll be after his second in a row. Other daredevils strapping into a bus Wednesday include, “The Z-Man” Ryan Zukowski, “Short Round” Chris Lescenski, “Corky” Jon Calfa and newcomer “The Redneck Renegade” Cutter Gera.

The Street Stock and Mini Stock teams will race in 20-lap main events while the Bock Auto Bandolero Bandits & Outlaws race 15-laps, the Beginner class will go 10-laps. The Trucks Enduro, 8-Cylinder Enduro and 4/6-Cylinder Gut & Go Enduro event distance will be predicated by number of entrants. The Kids Big Wheel Race will be first up after opening ceremonies at 7:15 pm.

Race teams will find the pit gates opening at 4:45 pm, with practice starting at 5:30 pm. Street Stock and Mini Stock qualifying heats go green at 6:50 pm.

General admission windows open at 6:00 pm, adults $30, kids 6-12 $20, 5 & under free. The complete race day itinerary and remaining 2024 schedule of events can be viewed at http://www.riverheadraceway.com, emails reach the track at office@riverheadraceway.com, the phone number is 631-842-RACE.
