CARAWAY SPEEDWAY ANNOUNCES NORTH-SOUTH SHOOTOUT SCHEDULE

Sophia, NC (October 30, 2024):  Caraway Speedway has released the schedule for the 22nd Annual John Blewett III Memorial North-South Shootout in Memory of Charles Kepley. This year-end racing tradition will feature some of the best talent in short track racing. Tour-type Modifieds will take center stage and will be joined by ISMA/MSS Supermodifieds.  This year’s event, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, November 8&9, will feature a packed lineup of racing that also includes 602 Modifieds, Challengers, Bowman Gray Stadium (BGS) Sportsman and vintage Modifieds. A free concert on Thursday, November 7 will kick-off the family-friendly weekend at Caraway Speedway in Sophia, NC. 

Two- day adult (ages 15 and up) grandstand general admission is $45. Advance discount tickets are available for only $40 when purchased by November 7 online at CarawaySpeedway.com.  Two day Youth (ages 7-14) grandstand general admission tickets are only $15. Children ages 6 and under are admitted free with an adult.

Pit Registration (ages 7 and up) is $100 for a three-day pit pass, $75 for two days and $45.00 for one day. Pit admission for children ages 6 and under is $30.00 and is good for all three-days. There is no Youth pit passes. Minor release forms will be required.

Grandstands will open at 4:30pm on Friday. Qualifying will get underway at 5:00pm with time trials for Tour Mods, 602 Mods, Challengers, and BGS Sportsman as well as heat races for the Supers. Friday night feature action includes the running of the Vintage Fall Nationals and a 40-Lap Challenger main event.

On Saturday, grandstands will open at 10:00am. Festivities kick off at 11:30am with an on-track pit party, where fans will get up close to the cars and stars of the North-South Shootout. Pre-race ceremonies will get underway at 12:30 pm and will include the return of the pedal car races—an annual tradition lovingly created by the late Charles Kepley, founder of the North-South Shootout. Small children will be able to race on the front stretch of the historic half-way to the delight of families and fans.

The green flag will fly for feature racing at 1:00pm starting with 60 laps for Supermodifieds and 50-laps for the 602 Modifieds. The 125- lap North-South Shootout for the Tour Modifieds will immediately follow.  A 30-lapper for the BGS Sportsman caps off a memorable weekend.

Feature Racing, Saturday, November 9 at 1:00pm

  • Supermodifieds  – 60 laps
  • 602 Modifieds – 50 laps
  • Tour Modifieds -125 laps
  • BGS Sportsman – 30 laps
