Annual Banquet of Champions Puts a Bow on Year 32 for White Mountain

N. Woodstock, NH — The drivers, teams and officials of White Mountain Motorsports Park met together for a final time in 2024 to celebrate season thirty-two for the North Woodstock, New Hampshire oval. Track champions and top point chasers from all five point-counting divisions were present at the annual Banquet of Champions on Friday night, along with a dozen full-time Kid’s Division youngsters and the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Flying Tiger Tri-State Series top performers.

Starting off the evening with several blind draw prizes courtesy of White Mountain’s valued contingency partners, Oren Remick was drawn for a full NEXT-GEN Late Model body kit courtesy of Five Star Race Car Bodies of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin with freshman runner Austin Sicard earning the $500 Five Star Flying Tiger certificate. Tennessee’s AR Bodies were also awarded to a fellow pair of rookie contenders as Colin Cornell was called up for the $1,500 Late Model certificate and Owen Cheney was drawn for the Flying Tiger body reskin kit. Also on the docket, Tyler Cahoon’s chip was drawn for the full set of four QA1 Series 63 shocks for his Foley Oil & Propane Late Model.

The Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Stock Minis and Fisher Auto Parts Flying Tigers were first to receive their top-10-in-points trophies for the 2024 season with champions Patrick Switser and Brandon Gray, respectively, having a chance to thank their teams, sponsors and supporters. Able to collect top-three finishing trophies for the ACT Flying Tiger Tri-State Series, Central Asphalt Triple Crown Series and runner-up in the track title, Groton, Vermont’s Luke Peters was also awarded the Most Improved Driver Award for his growth in the Tiger division this year.

The top Wayne’s Market Dwarf Cars were also on hand, along with twelve of the future’s greatest youth drivers who call White Mountain home throughout the summer. Top rookies Connor Rueda, Kyle Willis and Thomas Smithers, VI accepted their freshman awards, all expressing the same thankful sentiments to their supporters for the 2024 season. Chris Moulton also accepted his Rookie of the Year award in the Ammonoosuc Asphalt Mini Late Models, a first for the division since their inception three seasons ago.

The Foley Oil & Propane Late Models wrapped up the show. Longtime pilot Mike Jurkowski was awarded the White Mountain Motorsports Park Sportsmanship Award while Gabe Brown was presented his Wall’s Ford Platinum Series Championship and Tanner Woodard accepted his King of the Mountain accolades. Rounding out the night was the sixth annual presentation of the Avery Award, given in honor of the family who built and maintained WMMP through the first 25-years of its existence. A first in 2024, the Avery Award was bestowed to a business, Belmont’s Foley Oil & Propane who have been a constant supporter of both the track and many of its drivers over the last three decades.
