(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway is set to kick off its 2025 racing season with the 53rd “Annual NAPA Spring Sizzler® on April 26-27. Max Zachem teamed up with the Prestige Motorsports team owned by Doug DiPisa towards the end of the 2023 season and he is looking to build on his best Stafford finish of third from last season.
“We have run about a dozen or more races together since the end of 2023 with multiple top-10’s and a few top-5’s,” said Zachem. “Stafford, Waterford, Star, and Monadnock have all been great tracks for us and we all want to win badly. We have a great bunch of guys where everyone has their job and everyone works well together. We were able to jell together right out of the gate.”
Zachem recorded his best Stafford finish of third in last year’s GAF Modified Madness event and he will be looking to build on that finish at the NAPA Spring Sizzler® with sponsorship from USNE Power on the #13 machine.
“I’m thrilled to get back to Stafford,” said Zachem. “What the Arute family has done to make Stafford the top premier short track in this country is amazing. We don’t realize how blessed we are to have an amazing facility to race at. In addition to building on his third place finish from a year ago, Zachem is looking forward to the Sizzler® and its new one-day format with qualifying and the race all set for the Sunday, April 27 portion of the Sizzler® Weekend. With a little bit of luck on his side, Zachem feels like he has everything he needs to improve upon his third place finish.
“I’m looking forward to the one day format,” said Zachem. “It’s nice to keep the race fresh and change the format a bit. Nothing would mean more than to be holding that checkered flag in victory lane in one of the biggest races of the year. We just need to have a little luck on our side honestly. The GAF race last season we missed most of practice with a leaking water pump so the team made the call to short pit during the race and it worked out for track position. For the Sizzler® we need to play the right hand to have a shot to win.”
After finishing third at Stafford and several close calls at other tracks, Zachem feels like both himself and the #13 Prestige Motorsports team are primed for their first victory together and there would be no bigger race for them to capture their first win than the NAPA Spring Sizzler®.
“We are so close to a win,” said Zachem. “It just goes to show you how tough the competition is in the modified community. At the Fall Final, the top-30 cars were all within three and a half tenths of a second of each other and that’s just insane. To win “The Greatest Race In The History Of Spring” would mean the world. Winning is one thing but winning the Sizzler® is a whole ‘nother level. I know our team can get it done, we just need to execute and be at 150% to hold that checkered flag.”
The 53rd Annual NAPA Spring Sizzler® is set for April 26-27. The NAPA Spring Sizzler® kicks off on Saturday, April 26, with feature events for the Late Model, Limited Late Model, and Street Stock divisions, along with SK Light qualifying duel races that will set the field for an extra-distance 30-lap feature event on Sunday, April 27.

Sunday, April 27, will play host to the 53rd Annual NAPA Auto Parts Spring Sizzler®. Filling out Sunday’s racing card will be qualifying and feature racing for the SK Modified® division, the 30-lap SK Light Modified feature, plus the NAPA Pit Party.
