(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Motor Speedway’s premier SK Modified® division will take part in the biggest race of the 2025 season, the NAPA Auto Parts SK 5k, this Friday night, August 1st.  This year’s NAPA SK 5k features total posted awards of over $35,000 with the race winner guaranteed to take home a minimum of $5,000.  Below is a look at the 12th Annual NAPA Auto Parts SK 5k by the numbers as well as a statistical look at all drivers expected to race in the NAPA SK 5k and how they have fared in the extra distance classic.

Expected SK Modified® Cars NAPA SK 5k Race Stats

Michael Christopher, Jr. – #82 New England Turf / Eastport Feeds / P.T. Watts – Christopher enters the NAPA SK 5k as the point leader on the strength of 3 wins, 5 top-5, and 7 top-10 finishes in 8 races this season.  Christopher is one of the favorites to win the NAPA SK 5k as he has already won the Casella 80 and CBYD Senator’s Cup 50 this season.  Christopher is a former NAPA SK 5k winner, winning the race in 2021 and he has 1 win, 4 top-5, and 6 top-10 finishes in 10 career NAPA SK 5k starts for an average finish of 10.7.

Mikey Flynn- #24 Ballyheigue Farm – Flynn recorded his second career SK Modified® feature victory three weeks ago on July 11 and he has 1 win, 5 top-5, and 7 top-10 finishes this season.  Flynn has made 4 career NAPA SK 5k starts with a best finish of third coming in 2024.

Marcello Rufrano – #88 Wheelers Auto Service – Rufrano is a former NAPA SK 5k winner (2022) and in 8 races this season, he has posted 4 top-5 and 5 top-10 finishes to sit 6th in the SK Modified® points.  Rufrano has made 6 career NAPA SK 5k starts with his 2022 victory among his 3 top-5 and 4 top-10 finishes.

Michael Gervais, Jr. – #33 Gervais Brothers Roofing – Gervais is still in search of his first win of the 2025 season, but he enters the NAPA SK 5k 4th in points with 1 top-5 and 4 top-10 finishes this season.  Gervais is one of 3 drivers to have participated in each of the 11 previous runnings of the NAPA SK 5k and he has 1 top-5 and 5 top-10 finishes in those 11 starts with a best finish of second last season.

Max Zachem – #20 USNE Power – Zachem has made 3 SK Modified® starts this season, scoring 1 top-5 and 2 top-10 finishes in those 3 races with a best finish of 2nd coming in the CBYD Senator’s Cup 50 on June 20.  Zachem has twice raced in the NAPA SK 5k finishing 19th in 2020 and 23rd in 2021.

David Arute – #75 Monaco Ford – Arute comes into the NAPA SK 5k in 8th place in the SK standings with 1 top-5 and 3 top-10 finishes this season.  Arute has made 7 career starts in the NAPA SK 5k with 1 top-5 and 3 top-10 finishes with a best of 5th in 2022.

Cory DiMatteo – #11 Hummel Brothers Hot Dogs – After winning 3 races last season, DiMatteo is still looking for his first win of 2025.  DiMatteo has 2 top-10 finishes this season and in 4 career NAPA SK 5k starts, he has 1 top-10 finish, a 10th place finish in 2023.

Anthony Flannery – #25 Fowler’s Auto Wrecking – Flannery is currently in a 3-way tie for 10th place in the SK standings with 1 top-5 and 4 top-10 finishes this season.  Flannery has made 3 NAPA SK 5k starts with finishes of 12th in 2022, 6th in 2023, and 7th in 2024.

Alexander Pearl – #71 USNE Power – Pearl just notched his first career SK Modified® victory one week ago on July 25th. The victory was Pearl’s second top-5 and third top-10 finish this season and he finished 12th last season in his NAPA SK 5k debut.

Matt Vassar – #1 FAFOThreads.com – In a limited schedule this season, Vassar has posted a best finish of 10th on June 13th in the Casella Waste 80.  Vassar has made 5 career starts in the NAPA SK 5k with a best finish of 10th place in 2020.

Jon Puleo – #7 Mr. Rooter Plumbing – Puleo kicked off the 2025 season with his third career SK Modified® feature victory and for the season he has 1 win, 5 top-5, and 6 top-10 finishes, which includes three second place efforts to go along with his victory.  Puleo has 4 career starts in the NAPA SK 5k with 2 top-10 finishes.

Keith Rocco – #22 Avery Construction Corp. – Rocco is the defending champion of the NAPA SK 5k and he won back to back races this season in May.  Rocco has 2 wins, 3 top-5, and 5 top-10 finishes this season and his record in the NAPA SK 5k is unmatched.  Rocco has started all 11 editions of the extra distance classic with 1 win, 7 top-5, and 10 top-10 finishes.  The only NAPA SK 5k race that Rocco failed to finish in the top-10 was a 14th place finish in 2023.

Tyler Chapman – #41 Chapman Apartment Homes – The leading NAPA Rookie of the Year contender has posted 2 top-5 and 4 top-10 finishes during his rookie campaign, including a season best third place finish last Friday night, July 25th.  While Chapman will be making his NAPA SK 5k debut this season, last season saw him win the 40-lap King of the Crate SK Light extra distance feature event.

Dylan Kopec – #16 Steer-Rite Tire & Auto – Kopec has started 7 of the 8 SK Modified® races this season with 1 top-10 finish.  Kopec has made 3 NAPA SK 5k starts, finishing 11th in 2021, 13th in 2023, and 15th last season.

Steven Chapman – #14 Chapman Apartment Homes – Chapman enters the NAPA SK 5k coming off his best finish of the 2025 season, a second place finish last week.  For the season, Chapman has 2 top-5 and 4 top-10 finishes and he has finishes of 25th and 20th in his 2 career NAPA SK 5k starts.

Noah Korner- #31 Midstate Site Development – Korner has made 3 starts this season in a limited capacity with a best finish of 10th coming in the CBYD Senator’s Cup 50 on June 20th.  Korner has 4 career NAPA SK 5k starts with a best finish of 2nd in 2023 to go along with a 7th place finish in 2020.

Dylan Izzo – #76 Bolles Motors – Izzo comes into the NAPA SK 5k tied with Alexander Pearl and Anthony Flannery for 10th place in the SK points.  Izzo has posted 4 top-10 finishes this season with a best finish of 8th on June 27th.  Izzo has made 1 career start in the NAPA SK 5k, finishing 20th in 2017.

Troy Talman – #3 Casella Waste Systems – Talman is looking for his first win of the season after scoring 3 wins a season ago.  Talman has posted 3 top-5 and 6 top-10 finishes this season to sit 5th in the SK points.  Talman has made 6 career NAPA SK 5k starts with a best finish of 5th last season alogn with a pair of 8th place finishes in 2018 and 2023.

David Flammia, Jr. – #63 D+D Racing – The reigning SK Modified® Rookie of the Year has started 7 of the 8 races this season with a best finish this season of 17th on June 20th.  Flammia finished 23rd in his NAPA SK 5k debut last season.

Wesley Prucker – #23 Prucker Motorsports – In 7 races this season, Prucker has a best finish of 5th on May 16th.  Prucker has made 2 starts in the NAPA SK 5k, finishing 17th in 2023 and 21st last season.

Curt Brainard – #96 Brainard Motorsports – The SK Modified® veteran is coming off his best finish of the 2025 season with a 15th place finish last Friday night.  Brainard also finished 15th back on May 30th and in 4 career NAPA SK 5k starts, he has a best finish of 15th in the inaugural NAPA SK 5k back in 2014.

Todd Owen – #81 Cooker Construction – The 3-time SK Modified® champion and 2023 NAPA SK 5k winner is still looking for his first win of 2025.  Owen has 3 top-10 finishes this season with a best finish of 6th coming back on May 16th.   Owen has raced in all 11 editions of the NAPA SK 5k with a victory in 2023 to go along with 6 top-5 and 9 top-10 finishes.

Andrew Molleur – #85 Naproco / RaceChoice.com – The defending SK Modified® track champion has had a rough go thus far in 2025.  Molleur has 2 top-5 and 3 top-10 finishes this season with a best finish of third that he has accomplished twice.  Molleur has made 5 career starts in the NAPA SK 5k with 2 top-5 and 4 top-10 finishes with a best finish of 5th in 2019 and 2021.

Dan Avery – #10 Avery Construction Corp. – Avery has started 6 of the 8 SK Modified® races run this season with a best finish of 12th coming back on May 30th.  Avery will be looking to make his first NAPA SK 5k race start since the 2019 season.  In 6 career NAPA SK 5k starts, Avery has a best finish of 10th coming in the inaugural NAPA SK 5k back in 2014.

Art Caruso – #12 All Crate – Caruso comes into the NAPA SK 5k fresh off his best finish of the season, a 15th place finish that matches his 15th place finish back on May 30th.  Caruso has made 2 NAPA SK 5k starts finishing 26th in 2023 and 27th in 2024.

Wade Gagner – #70 Maybury Material Handling – Gagner made the move from Stafford’s SK Light division to the premier SK Modified® division on May 30th and in 6 races his best finish has been 16th, which he accomplished on May 30th and July 25th.  Gagner will be making his NAPA SK 5k debut this season.

Tyler Hines- #99 AJ Karting – A career 4-time SK Modified® feature winner at Stafford, Hines has posted a pair of 17th place finishes this season in limited action.  Hines has raced in every NAPA SK 5k except for the inaugural edition in 2014 and he has 1 top-5 and 3 top-10 finishes in those 10 races.

Frank Ruocco – #91 Hines Motorsports – The 2006 SK Modified® track champion will be making his first start of the 2025 season in the NAPA SK 5k.  Ruocco is a 3-time winner of the SK 150 at Stafford (2003, 2009, 2010) and in 4 career NAPA SK 5k starts, he has 1 top-5 and 2 top-10 finishes.
