LANCASTER, N.Y. (September 6, 2025) – Trevor Catalano from Ontario, NY earned the hard-fought victory in the Sportsman main event at Lancaster Motorplex on Saturday night. Mark Schulz from Newstead, NY won the Mighty TQ Midgets Legends Night feature event. Nathan Bryant from East Aurora, NY won the Street Stock main event. Jason Dieter from Lakeview, NY won the Super Stock feature for his first career Lancaster victory.

Carson Kelchlin and Tony Carbone were on the front row for the Sportsman feature event, with Kelchlin in the lead. Mason Hanel would go four-wide to take over second place, with Trevor Catalano passing John Barber for third. Mike Fiebelkorn spun in turn two to bring out the caution on lap four. During the caution period, race leader Kelchlin blew the left rear tire, ending his strong run. Kelchlin was able to rejoin the field. Mason Hanel and Trevor Catalano would inherit the front row, with Hanel in the lead ahead of Catalano, George Skora III, Andy Jankowiak, and Carbone. John Barber spun in turn four to bring out the caution on lap six. Trevor Catalano would take the lead on the restart, with Jankowiak moving into second place. Paul Flye would hit the wall to bring out the caution on lap 10. Catalano would continue to lead on the restart, with Jankowiak closing in. Joe Papin would take over fourth from Hanel on lap 15, as the lead duo pulled away from the field. Carbone would reclaim fourth place on lap 20 after passing Papin in turn one. Trevor Catalano and Jankowiak would battle for the lead for much of the feature distance, and on the final the lap, the duo would battle hard into turn one with Jankowiak edging into the lead, then Catalano would dive underneath going into turn three and would reclaim the lead and the win in a thrilling finish. 

Mark Schulz and Brendan Wallace led the Mighty TQ Midgets to the green flag for their Legends Night event, with Schulz in the lead. Kyle Hutchinson and Andy Jankowiak would take over second and third from Wallace early on. Jankowiak and Hutchinson would battle for second and would take over the position on lap five. Dave Wollaber would enter the top five on lap eight, as he passed Arik McGruder. Mike Westwood spun on the front straightaway to bring out the caution on lap 11. The restart would see Schulz continuing to lead Jankowiak, Hutchinson, Wallace, and Wollaber. Schulz would hold off Jankowiak and Hutchinson to score the feature win. 

The race was in honor and memory of Vinnie Christiano Sr, John Casey, Harry Macy, Charlie DiRosa, and Albert Banyard. 

David Brunka and Kyle Schosek shared the front row for the Street Stock main event, with Brunka in the lead, with Troyer Catalano taking second away, with Chris Barber racing in third place. The lead trio would go three-wide for the lead on lap five. Brunka would get the worst end of it as his car would go around in turn two and collect fifth place running Marty Kling. On the restart, Barber would take the lead with Tim Garlock racing in second. Nathan Bryant would battle with Mark Hoch for fourth place on lap nine, with Bryant taking the position with an outside pass on the back straightaway. Bryant would then continue to work his way through the field to take over third from Dave Johnson on lap 13. Bryant would catch the lead duo with 10 laps remaining as the leaders approached lap traffic. Bryant would take over second on lap 18, and then on lap 20, would take the lead away from Barber. Bryant would pull away to earn the feature win. The top 10 received extra money in loving memory of Ken “Hurricane” Heckler. 

Nick Rickard and Tim Welshans were on the front row for the Super Stocks feature, with Chris Batorski taking the lead ahead of Ryan Lagoda and Jason Dieter. Dieter would take second away and then would pass Batorski to take over the race lead on lap four. Dieter held off Lagoda to score the feature win. 

Racing returns on Saturday, September 20th for Championship Night. The Sportsman, Street Stocks, 4 Cylinders, and the Rusty Diamond Cores Pro 4’s will all be in action. If necessary, a rain date of Sunday, September 21 will be utilized. The complete schedule and ticket prices have been released for the 37th US Open September 26-28. Friday the 26th will be an open practice and then the traditional pit party staring Flipside from 9-11pm. Saturday the 27th will see the Sportsman, Super Stocks, Mighty TQ Midgets and the 4 Cylinders all in action. Then on Sunday the 28th, the Tour-Type Modifieds will be racing the 37th US Open, with the Late Models, Street Stocks, and Pro 4’s all in competition.
