EMERSON GOES OFF-ROAD FOR FOURTH WIN; PREVOST INAGURAL CROWN VIC CHAMPION

WATERFORD – The point battle in the Crown Vics was already decided before the green flag dropped but that didn’t make the race any less exciting. Robert Jones held the lead briefly but Jack Emerson shot out front and built up a great lead, leaving Jones to deal with Stephen Bolinger Jr and Jake Caprio. They got by but Caprio was on a mission to reel in Emerson. With 3 laps on the board Caprio had erased the lead Emerson held and went to work. The two battled fiercely until contact between the two sent them both off course and through the infield. The lead the two had built up was so large that when both drivers recovered and got back on track, they didn’t have to hold off the competition as Emerson got out first to take the white flag, and Caprio second. Gregg Prevost III kept his nose clean enough to be able to celebrate his championship and wear the crown in the Crown Vics.
Aaron Plemons entered the Open Street Stock feature with other weekly cars like Brian Norman in the 12 and Al Stone III in his 52. Plemons shot off the front row over Mike Viens on a mission, building up a big lead over Norman almost immediately. Ryan Lineham had to start deep in the field but he methodically worked his way to the front settling into second by halfway. With lapped traffic in the mix, Lineham threw it three-wide with Plemons to take over the lead just a few laps later. Safely out front, the battle burned for second. Norman caught Plemons and engaged in a side by side battle where Plemons would lock down the position. Lineham picked up where he left off last year in Open Street Stock competition as he gears up for the Northeast Street Stock Championship in a few short weeks.
Three-time champion Ben Pollard and teammate Ryan Magliano took off from the front row of the Super X-Cars leaving John Nunes and John Nash to battle for third. Bill Reiman got by Nash and started working on Nunes with the front two in another zip code. A caution with 10 to go reeled them in to the field where Pollard aced the restart, but an immediate caution gave Magliano another chance. This time, Magliano held the lead going into the first turn and he even built up a little cushion, but when Pollard recovered and got back in the groove, it was all over. He made quick work of Magliano and in the closing stages Reiman fell off the pace giving Nunes an easy ride to his first podium finish.
Josh Cicio took the reigns of the number 90 X-Carin this non-point event. On lap 4, 2025 champion Christian Herman worked by Cicio on the outside but there was a problem, his rear bumper cover was hanging on in the wind. A black flag sidelined Herman as Corey Caddick who had worked through the field, now took over the lead. A caution shortly after on lap 9 set the field back up but they couldn’t keep Caddick at bay. He would go on to win easily over Cicio as Dylan Decoster in his first race this season would slip by Tim Burgess for third.
Ronnie Williams got his first Speedbowl win since 2016 in the Bob Horn Memorial 85 for the Modified Racing Series.
