Barre, VT – A picture perfect Friday greeted the teams at Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl as they prepared their mounts for the 63rd Vermont Milk Bowl weekend ahead. Topping the charts, thirty-six Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour teams took advantage of Friday’s practice rounds with teams shaking down for both mock time trial runs ahead of tomorrow’s Booth Bros./Hood qualifying and Sunday’s 50-lap sprints in hopes of Milk Bowl glory.

Defending Milk Bowl champion Marcel Gravel started back where he left off one year ago with a fast time of 12.200-seconds around the Barre highbanks in the final round of practice Friday afternoon. 2024 track champion Kaiden Fisher paced two rounds of practice later in the day with a 12.370 then a 12.366 to round out his day while practice made perfect for Jesse Switser. After several one-off visits to Thunder Road he paced the second round of practice with a 12.436 in preparation for Booth Bros./Hood time trials.

Derek Gluchacki continued to prove his dark-horse standing on Milk Bowl weekend, top ten on the charts all afternoon. Quebecers Patrick Laperle and Raphael Lessard also showed stable speed and look to bring the Milk Bowl north of the border for the first time in over fifteen years.

Group time trials tomorrow means that the practice rounds for the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers were certainly a setting to make the most of tomorrow’s qualifying. Brendan Moodie started off with the best of the afternoon with a 12.839-second run while White Mountain Motorsports Park track champion Shane Sicard and Rookie of the Year Todd Derrington worked all day long to get their cars in top shape for tomorrow’s start to Milk Bowl weekend.

After smoking the wall in the opening ten-minute round of practice, Hayden Morris returned to pace the rk Miles Street Stocks with a 14.505-second run in the third session. Track champion Kyler Davis paced the opening round and parked the car after the second, when asked how the car was he smiled with a shrug of the shoulders. Be on the lookout for the #1VT tomorrow as well as young hot-shoes Morris and Connor Rueda, who was fastest in the second and fourth rounds.

Nine NELCAR Tour Legends were the first to hit the Thunder Road highbanks in the division’s history as they tried to learn the tricky oval. They all had just one thing to say – “What did you do to turn four.” Officials could only smile and say ‘Welcome to Thunder Road.”
