Winchester, NH- Monadnock Speedway, The Racing Guys and Maurice Enterprises have just finalized a group effort to make the 2nd Annual Tour Type Open Modifieds Northeast Summer Showdown 100 on Saturday, July 4 at the Winchester oval a one of a kind event.

On our nation’s 250th birthday, the Modifieds will roar to life for one of their most lucrative races of 2026, while at the same time Monadnock and The Racing Guys honor racers and military veterans on this very special day.

“The purse will be something they won’t forget,” said Dick Williams, who is spearheading the extra effort. “There is no better day to honor our heroes. This is going to be unbelievable. We have a bunch of people wanting to be involved in this financially.

“I expect this to be the biggest thing that The Racing Guys have ever done. We have a platinum, silver and bronze level for sponsors to contribute. I have already spoken to a number of people who are very excited about our idea, and now it is all coming to fruition.”

The event will be the second of three Open Modified races to be contested at the quarter-mile next season. With minimal scheduling conflicts on July 4, there will almost certainly be a large contingent of race teams on hand to support this event. Williams, a longtime promoter of New England racing, feels that Monadnock is the perfect venue for this endeavor.

“They take care of the racers there,” he said. “It’s a racer friendly place that is pretty centrally located. It’s easy to come up interstate 91 from Connecticut. The facility is unbelievable now with what Norm Wrenn has done to improve it, and the organization that Michelle Cloutier brings.”

Four of the track’s weekly divisions will also be on the July 4 schedule. The Twin State Truck Service Super Streets, Fabian Fuels Mini Stocks, Brattleboro Towing and Recovery Pure Stocks and Doug’s Auto Body Young Guns are scheduled to compete.

Monadnock Speedway officially concludes their 2025 racing season this Saturday night with the crowning of track champions, the top ten drivers in weekly competition and more awards at the Best Western in Keene, New Hampshire.

More information on the July 4th Modified Open presented by Monadnock Speedway, The Racing Guys, Maurice Enterprises and other Modified racing enthusiasts, will be finalized and announced in January, and also continuing throughout the spring season.
