Wall Township, NJ – Saving the best for last, Wall Stadium’s all-time winningest Modified driver with 101 wins and eight Modified championships, Gil Hearne has confirmed that he plans on attending Hall of Fame night this coming Saturday, July 18th.
Hearne, alongside his son Jason will take part in the autograph session from 4:30-5:30pm in the turn one section of the grandstands.
Not only will Gil be on hand, the famous Durkin No. 12 vintage car owned by John Mead and the ‘Black Bandit’ No. 17 owned by Kenny Matlach will also be on hand.
“When we reached out to everyone about attending Hall of Fame night, the biggest question everyone asked was that if Gil was coming. We’re so honored to have him join us this Saturday night,” said Wall Stadium Director of Racing Operations Pete Maletto.
Also planning on being in attendance will be Bernie Bailey, Bob McCollough, Bob Punzi, Charlie Kremer Jr., Chas Okerson, Craig Pollard, Danny Bohn, Dave Michel, Deb Gastelu, Derek Hopkinson, Dick Barney, Doug Wolcott, Eddie Bohn, Eric Mauriello, Frank Antonides, Frank Boardwick, George Andretta, Harold Dauncey, Harry Reed, Henry O’Neil, Jeff Carpenter, Jimmy Blewett, Jim Smith, Joe Mongeau, Johnny Luhrs, Ken Woolley Jr., Kenny Matlach, Kevin Davison, Kevin Eyres, Larry Patterson, Lenny Boyd, Lenny Sammons, Nick Shaw, Pete Brittain, Ray Liss, Ray Shea, Rich Mongeau, Robert Schlechtweg, Ron Frees, Shanon Mongeau, Shawna (Ingraham) Mauriello, Steve Barrick, Steven Reed, Tony Ferrante Sr., Tony Ferrante Jr., Tony Siscone, and Tyler Truex.
The night’s on track activity will be highlighted by the Hall of Fame 100 for the NASCAR Modifieds, which will be the first feature following intermission. The 100-lap affair will pay $3,000 to win from a $15,000 total purse. Also in competition will be the O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks, Surf Side Collision 4-Cylinders and the ATQMRA TQ Midgets.
Pit Gates will open at 1pm, with grandstand gates opening at 3pm on July 18th. The Hall of Fame reunion will begin at 4pm in the turn one section of grandstands. The autograph session will take place from 4:30-5:30pm prior to racing action getting started at 6pm. A special limited edition Hall of Fame autograph poster will be available to fans in attendance.Adults (18+) are $30, Seniors (62+) and Military w/ID are $20, Children (7-17) are $15 with kids 6 and under being FREE!
