WILLIAMSON N.Y. (August 14, 2026) — Spencer Speedway opened its gates to race fans on Friday night for Apple Harvest Night, along with five exciting divisions of racing, plus a handful of vintage modifieds.

The Race of Champions Sportsman Modified event — the headlining show of the night — saw Alyssa Leaty on the pole to lead the field to green.

Almost immediately, Andy Lewis, Jr., jumped out front to take over the lead, and he never looked back.

During the course of the race, Andy Jankowiak worked his way up from 11th to third, and battled heavily with Chris Finocchario for about five laps before taking over runner-up.

Seeing Lewis in clearly, Jankowiak gave it all he had as he went up high down the backstretch, but to no avail; Lewis had just a little more “more.”

With only seven laps to go, Jankowiak knew that he had to try something.  And two laps later, when lap traffic became a factor, that notion became even more prominent.

After a late caution, Jankowiak once again gave it his all to try and beat Lewis.  He edged closer and closer, but when the checkered flag waved, he remained in second.

“It was good racing [tonight],” said Lewis, an Ontario, NY, native in Victory Lane. “[This is definitely the] best car I’ve had all year here [at Spencer].”

Rounding out the top three were:

●      Andy Jankowiak — Tonawanda, NY

●      Daryl Lewis, Jr. — Ontario, NY

Other winners for the night included:

Wilbert’s U-Pull It Four Cylinders: Patsy Catalano — Williamson, NY

Wilbert’s U-Pull It Crown Vic/Super Sixes: Ashley Timmerman — Williamson, NY

Race of Champions 602 Sportsman: Carter Ridgway — Williamson, NY

Race of Champions Super Stocks: Brian Hallett — Avon, NY scored his first Race of Champions Super Stock feature victory of his career.

Next up on the Race of Champions schedule is Shangri-La Speedway II, this upcoming SaturdayAugust 22, with its Sportsman Modifieds, and the FOAR Score Dash Series.
