SHAWN NYE HEADS TO VICTORY LANE ON BIG NIGHT AT LAKE ERIE SPEEDWAY

— Fiebelkorn and Lewis, Jr., run Second and Third —  

North East, PA (July 11, 2026) — Shawn Nye of Lancaster, NY, needed a break and he received it when the leader of the race, Evan Rygielski of Wilkes-Barre, PA, came to a stop in turn four of the speedway with just a few laps remaining in the Grape Belt Triple Belt Crown in North East, PA, at Lake Erie Speedway this past Saturday in the 40-lap Race of Champions Sportsman Modified feature.

Nye started third and worked his to second while Rygielski got the jump on pole sitter Andy Jankowiak of Tonawanda, NY. The duo led early on before Nye went on to the victory.

“We needed tonight,” stated Nye in victory lane. “Every one on this team has been working hard to get back to victory lane. This feels great and I need to thank everyone involved with our efforts.”

Mike Fiebelkorn, Jr., of Hamburg, NY raced from fourth to second. Lewis, Jr., started 10th and finished 3rd.

George Skora, III of Eden, NY and Jankowiak rounded out the top-five.

Nye, Lewis Jr., and Jankowiak won the qualifying races. Nye posted the fastest time in the final practice.


The next Race of Champions “Family of Series” event will take place next Saturday, July 18, at Holland Speedway.  Classes included will be:

●       FOAR Score Dash Series

●       Race of Champions Street Stocks

●       Race of Champions Late Models
