GW Promotional Group to offer race day programs; Whitcomb Classic under two months away with Daytona 500 set for this weekend

By Souza Media

GW Promotional Group announced today that lap money will be on the line for the leader of 20 specific laps during the Whitcomb Classic at Monadnock Speedway on Sunday, May 1.

The 125-lap season-opener as part of the five-race Whitcomb 5 Series will showcase the NHSTRA Modified division for extra-distance action around New Hampshire’s bullring. On top of a lucrative purse for the race itself, totalling a minimum of $5,000 to the winner, drivers will be chasing a total of $1,500 in lap money across those 20 laps.

As part of the season’s offerings, GW Promotional Group will also produce and offer race day programs at the track for race fans to purchase. The race day programs will include a list of all the drivers who have registered for the season along with their car number. All information surrounding the lap money, including which specific laps will award the extra cash, will be provided inside the programs, with all of the information fans need surrounding this exciting local modified series that will showcase the grassroots racers of New Hampshire.

“This is just yet another way for us to give back to the racers with some sponsors coming forward to sponsor these laps,” Gregg Whitcomb, owner of GW Promotional Group, said. “It elevates the Whitcomb Classic to even higher levels. This event, along with the other four in our series, are going to be events that fans will not want to miss in 2022.”

Also this year, there will be an autograph book available for purchase at these events with further information about the drivers. Information will include a brief bio as well as pictures of the drivers and their cars. All drivers who register for the series are encouraged to provide the information they would like to see included, by emailing the PR Manager for GW Promotional Group at jessica@gwpromotional.com.

Businesses in the New Hampshire area and beyond will also have the opportunity to purchase ad space inside the programs. Those interested can contact Jessica at jessica@gwpromotional.com to learn more. The deadline for any graphics and payments for ad space is March 1. The programs will also include information about Gregg Whitcomb, the owner of GW Promotional Group, Jessica Whitcomb and a short biography of Bob Whitcomb, along with the series format and more.

With the race closing in quickly, GW Promotional Group is also excited to watch NASCAR’s best stars compete in the 64th running of the Daytona 500 this Sunday, February 20. The Whitcomb Classic, named in the honor of Bob Whitcomb, father of Gregg, will also honor Bob and his NASCAR experience and success. This Sunday’s Daytona 500 marks 32 years since Whitcomb’s NASCAR Cup Series team, with driver Derrike Cope, won NASCAR’s Great American Race.

In honor of this historic memory, New Hampshire’s Keene Sentinel newspaper will be running a special feature this weekend about Whitcomb’s Daytona 500 success, the upcoming Whitcomb 5 Series and more. Fans should be sure to grab a copy of the paper this weekend to capture all of the latest in the racing world and also a look back at Cope’s incredible Daytona 500 triumph against all odds.

The Whitcomb 5 Series will also have additional information in the next coming weeks regarding sponsorship for race events during the 2022 season. All the hype and direction leads towards fans filling the grandstands at Monadnock to open the season.

The Whitcomb 5 Series begins on Sunday, May 1 at Monadnock, with the Whitcomb Classic 125 as part of the track’s opening weekend spectacular. On Friday, June 17, the series will move to Claremont Motorsports Park, before visiting Lee USA Speedway on Friday, July 15. On Sunday, August 14, the NHSTRA Modifieds will rumble at Hudson Speedway, while the finale will take place right back at Monadnock on September 16-17.
