FOR THE RACE OF CHAMPIONS FAMILY OF SERIES AT HOLLAND INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY AS PART OF “BUSCH 100”
– Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series, Race of Champions Super Stocks and Race of Champions FOAR Score Four Cylinder Dash Series set to Kick Off End of Season, Big Race, Big Money Run –
Holland, N.Y. – (August 22, 2022) – Race fans are in for a treat this Saturday at Holland (N.Y.) International Speedway with the running of the annual “Busch 100” that places the George Decker Memorial, Ricky Wylie Classic and Butch Palmer Classic on “center-stage’ on the high-banked 3/8-mile oval.
The Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series will run for 52-laps in the George Decker Memorial, which is known in Western and Central New York racing circles commonly as “The Decker”. The Race of Champions Super Stock Series will compete in the 3rd Annual Rick Wylie Classic, while the Race of Champions FOAR Score Four Cylinder Dash Series runs for 32-laps in the Butch Palmer Classic.
The Decker family, the Wylie family and the Palmer family and friends have raised thousands in bonus award money for racers in attendance on Saturday night, elevating the lucrative purse monies for the event.
The Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series will race for $2,000-to-win, plus over $3,000 in lap money. Currently, Shawn Nye of Lancaster, N.Y., leads Kevin Timmerman of Walworth, N.Y., by just 12 points in the Championship standings.
The 3rd Annual Rick Wylie Classic will pay $4,000 to the winner of the Super Stock race. Seneca Distribution, Tracy Trucking and the Boston Deli, among others have stepped up to make the contributions for the popular event. Joe Mancuso of Buffalo, N.Y., is the defending race champion.
The Butch Palmer Classic will see the Race of Champions FOAR Score Four Cylinder Dash Series race for $1,032.32 and $100-to-start with several contingency awards posted. Through the organization of Dice Racing and Rusty Diamond Cores along with the standard race purse, well over $5,000 in bonus money has been posted.
Grandstand gates will open at 5:00pm with qualifying races slated to roll at 6:30pm.
