GEORGETOWN, DE – The Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco heads to Georgetown Speedway for the first time this season on Tuesday, Aug. 30.

The ninth annual ‘Blast at the Beach’ at the progressively banked half-mile oval rewards the STSS big-block/small-block Modified winner with a $6,000 payday at the end of 35 laps.

The STSS Crate 602 Sportsman join the program as well for a 25-lap, $1,500-to-win feature event.

The 2022 rendition of the annual late-summer classic will be presented by Melon 1 and Sussex Diesel.

The ‘Blast at the Beach’ represents Round No. 6 of the Hurlock Auto & Speed Supply South Region $15,000 championship chase for the STSS Modifieds.

The 25-lap Crate 602 Sportsman affair serves as Round No. 4 of the Belmont’s Garage South Region championship fight.

The original ‘Blast at the Beach’ in 2014 was a non-sanctioned event co-promoted by BD Motorsports Media LLC and Eric Kormann. The seven editions since 2015 have all fallen under STSS sanctioning.

The entire night of racing, along with every STSS race in 2022, will be broadcast LIVE on FloRacing (www.floracing.tv).

Georgetown Speedway, originally constructed by Melvin L. Joseph in 1949, is located at the intersection of Route 113 and Speedway Road in Georgetown, Del., just miles from the Delaware beaches and less than a 40-minute drive from Ocean City, Md.
