Track management is ready to get things underway for a great 2023 season. Race teams can test their rides during a pair of practice sessions, the first of which will be this Saturday, April 15th. Beginning at 1:00 PM and running until dark, the cost is $30 per car and pit passes are $20. The grandstand will be open and is free for viewing.

A week later, on April 22nd, cars can return for another practice session, from 3 PM until dark. The track is also available for rentals the following day, April 23rd, from 1 PM until 7 PM.

This year Chemung opens with a trio of Saturday afternoon shows. The season opener gets the green on April 29th at 2 PM. Pits will open at 11 AM, grandstand at noon, practice at 1 PM and racing at 2 PM. Regular shows at the Speedrome include the Buckley’s Automotive Modifieds, Blauvelt Funeral Home Super Stocks, Marion Decker Agency Hobby Stocks, Chemung 4 Cylinders, and the Serendipity Ice Cream Bandoleros.

Over the winter Buckley’s, Blauvelt and Serendipity came on board as title sponsors for three divisions. All five divisions will be in competition on April 29th.  Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, $13 for seniors, $5 for kids ages 5 to 12, and free for kids ages 5 and under.

The following Saturday, May 6th, will be a repeat show with one special addition – Kids Race Car Rides during intermission.

On Saturday, May 13th, Sam’s Bar & Grill sponsors the show, which includes a 75-lap Race of Champions Modified event. The Buckley’s Automotive Modifieds will be off that day but the other regular divisions will be running. Grandstand admission on the 13th is $25 for adults, $22 for seniors, $5 for kids ages 6-12, and free for kids ages 5 and under. This is the first of two shows for the ROC Modifieds, and the first of three shows featuring at least one of the ROC touring divisions.

There’s been considerable off-season buzz regarding the growing Marion Decker Agency Hobby Stock class, which has shown growth in number each year since its introduction. Several drivers are also preparing cars as they move up to another division.

Anyone interested in renting the track, on April 23rd or another time, should contact either Ray Hodge (607-483-3468) or Jerry Sinsabaugh (607-738-8829) for dates, times, and pricing. They can also be reached for any other questions regarding the 2023 season.

The most current information is on the track’s Facebook page (Chemung Speedrome – Racing at the Drome).
