(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway hosted its SK Light Modified division for an extra distance 30-lap King of the Crate feature event as part of the GAF Roofing Modified Masters program on Wednesday, July 15th.  Robert Bloxsom, III took the lead midway through the extra distance feature and then pulled away from the field in the closing laps to take down his second win of the 2026 season.

In the 30-lap King of the Crate SK Light feature event, Bob Charland took the lead at the drop of the green flag to set the early pace ahead of Dylan Houghton, Casey Vogt, Paul Arcari, and Stephen Kalogiannis.  Frank L’Etoile spun in turn 2 to bring the caution flag out with 1 lap complete.

The restart saw a bottleneck in the outside lane with several cars taking to the infield grass and the caution flag coming right back out.  The next restart saw the same result with the cars of Sami Anderson, Kyle Pinkham, L’Etoile, and Ava Lombardo all spin through the grass to bring the caution immediately back out.  Houghton was sent to the rear of the field for jumping the restart.

Charland took the lead on the restart with Vogt nearly taking the lead before slotting in behind Charland.  Jason Finkbein and Kalogiannis were racing wheel to wheel for third with Robert Bloxsom, III in fifth.  Kalogiannis won the duel with Finkbein to take third with Bloxsom taking fourth to drop Finkbein back to fifth.  Bloxsom took third from Kalogiannis on lap-5 while Charland was still in command of the race out front.

Nick Anglace got loose in turn 4 on lap-10 and slid back outside the top-10 to 14th place but he maintained control of his car and the race stayed green.  Bloxsom made a move to the inside of Charland for the lead on lap-13 and he made the pass on lap-14 to move into the lead.  Kalogiannis was now third behind Bloxsom and Charland with Finkbein fourth and Tyler Barry now up to fifth.

Barry went by Finkbein to move up to fourth place on lap-16 while Bloxsom continued to lead Charland and Kalogiannis.  With 10 laps to go, Bloxsom was the leader followed by Bob Charland, Kalogiannis, Barry, Finkbein, Ryan Charland, Mark Bakaj, Anglace, David Webb, and Ben Morabito.

Bloxsom pulled away from the field over the final laps to secure his second win of the 2026 season.  Barry finished second with Bob Charland, Kalogiannis, and Finkbein rounding out the top-5.
