MANY, LA – Racing in memory of his late uncle, Tommy Rascoe picked up an emotional victory on Friday night at Sabine Speedway in Many, La.

Rascoe, of Converse, La., wired the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco Ollie’s ‘Cajun Region’ 25-lap event, topping the second round of the Day Motor Sports point series.

“This one is for him right here,” Rascoe said. “I wouldn’t be in it (racing) if it weren’t for him. He taught me everything I know about it.”

Rascoe launched off the front row at the start and led the entire distance.

Koty Adams, who won the opener at 105 Speedway in Cleveland, Texas last month, swept past Patrik Daniel to take over second position midway through the event.

Adams pressured Rascoe as the leaders diced in traffic coming to the checkered, but Rascoe maintained the advantage and picked up a $1,200 victory, the third of his career.

Adams credited New York State-based DKM Fabrication for their support.

“I drove up to New York at the beginning of the year to get this car,” he said. “I spent a week with those guys. It’s definitely paying off.”

Adams, of Doyline, La., settled for second, followed by Daniel, of Wills Point, Texas, Caleb Dillard of Robeline, La., and Keith Badiali of Benton, La.

The race was slowed by just one caution flag.

Adams and Keith White of Academy, Texas were the heat winners.

Racing resumes tonight – May 20 – at Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, La., for Round No. 3 of the Day Motor Sports point series for the Ollie’s Cajun Region contingent.
