A large and enthusiastic crowd looked on Wednesday night as Riverhead Raceway presented the annual Back to School Monster Truck spectacular. Prior to the car crushing mayhem, Andrew Farnham of Baldwin won his second Mini Stock event of 2023, while Mason Goodale scored his second win of the season in the 15-lap Bock Auto INEX Bandolero feature. The 15-lap Bock Auto INEX Bandolero Outlaw 15-lap event fell to Will Sipala of Manorville, he also enjoying a second win on the season.

Defending Mini Stock champion Andrew Farnham was a man on a mission, out avenge a DQ from the most recent race when he and three other top runners were deemed to have unapproved exhaust systems. Steering the Matlach Motorsports Honda, Farnham never looked back after taking the lead of the midweek special. Joe Warren Jr. of Ridge, also a DQ victim on August 12th rebounded for a second-place tally in the Tom Kraft tribute car while Shawn Wanat of Riverhead, winner of the most recent race was third in the Spit Speed Shop racer. For Farnham the win was the 8th of his career tying him with Mike Mujsce Jr. for second on the win list led by Joe Warren Jr.

Second generation racer Mason Goodale found his way back to victory lane turning in a dominating performance in the Bock Auto INEX Bandolero Bandit 15-lap contest. Mason, the son of NASCAR WMT driver Eric won by nearly six seconds over his nearest rival. That nearest rival, championship leader Reid Halpin of Wading River charged his way back to the front after an early race incident forced him to the rear of the field in the Baldwin Automotive machine.  Reid settled for second. Emmett Grattan of Southold was third in the Southold PBA entry and is knocking on the door of his first career win.

Will Sipala, grandson of Fred Sipala, a Modified driver during the Islip Speedway era survived a restart with five laps remaining in the 15-lap Bock Auto INEX Bandolero Outlaw to post his second career victory. Ben Morabito, winner of four out of the five races to date at Riverhead chased Sipala until late in the contest when he was passed for second place by Cillian Tennat of Riverhead in the Miller & Caggiano Attorney at Law entry.

After taking a job with the Long Island Railroad, Anthony Pizzo of Lake Ronkonkoma was forced to curtail his very successful Enduro racing activities to a limited basis. Well no rust gathered on the driver of the Fleming Landscapes Design entry as he won the 40-lap 8-Cylinder Enduro Wednesday. Popular Woot Lawrence, championship leader of the class was runner-up in the Travers.com racer, while defending champion Pat Collins of Southampton was third in the PC Truck & Equipment Chevy.

Zach Tyler of Cutchogue certainly likes the midweek 4/6-Cylinder Gut & Go Enduro events, especially after he won his second 40-lap main event in three weeks. Zach won the August 2nd Wednesday night program for his first win of the season. Tyler, steering the Miller & Caggiano Attorney at Law racer was chased to the line by Joey Palmeri Jr. of Lindenhurst in his J&J Towing machine while Jeremy Rand of Southampton was third in his sponsored wanted entry.
