OSWEGO, NY (July 10, 2024) – J&S Paving 350 Super high point man, Josh Sokolic, is set to race with the ISMA/MSS this weekend at the Berlin Raceway in Marne, MI for the Great Lakes Classic. Sokolic will be driving the Henes Racing 36 Supermodified for long time car owner Ron Henes. This marks Sokolic’s first-ever appearance at Berlin Raceway.

Sokolic made his ISMA/MSS debut last August at Oswego Speedway, subbing for regular driver Moe Lilje in the Danny Soule 32 car. In that race, Sokolic impressively started 23rd and charged to an 11th place finish. With the help of his Oswego car owner Eddie Horne and Soule, Sokolic, who has 4 top 5 finishes and a feature win in 5 starts at Oswego this year, secured a ride with ISMA/MSS for their big weekend.

Nine-time Speedway champion, Otto Sitterly, who has also clinched the ISMA championship twice in 2021 and 2022, will join Sokolic at Berlin Raceway. Sitterly, having competed in every Oswego Speedway and ISMA/MSS event this year, made a last-minute decision with car owner John Nicotra to bring the 7 Bodnar Chassis car to Michigan. Sitterly finished third in both legs of the Great Lakes Classic last year.

In Oswego competition this season, Sitterly has participated in every race, marking his first full-time effort since 2021. He is coming off a pair of third-place finishes in the Burke’s Do It Best Home Center Twin 40’s last weekend, boasting 4 top 5 finishes and 5 top 10 finishes in 5 starts.

Sitterly is currently third in points, chasing his tenth track title, and 41 points behind leader Dave Shullick Jr. and 17 points behind Jeff Abold for second place.

Originally scheduled to participate at Berlin Raceway this weekend, Shullick will miss the event due to engine issues with the Osetek 75, which he was to drive with a wing as the No. 95. The car will be repaired in time for next weekend’s races.

The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Oswego/NBT Bank $7,000 to win Winged Super Challenge will take place on Friday, July 19, rescheduled from its original June 29 date. An early roster points to 24 Winged Supermodifieds, depending on this weekend’s events at Berlin.

Be part of a huge 2-day Super Spectacle next Friday, July 19, and Saturday, July 20 at the Steel Palace. The event will feature the ISMA/MSS Supermodifieds Winged Challenge on Friday and Autograph Night for Oswego Novelis Supermodifieds, Pathfinder Bank SBS, and J&S Supers on Saturday, all presented by Holiday Inn Express & Suites Oswego, NBT Bank, Compass Federal Credit Union, and Rock Stream Retreat.

A 2-day GA ticket is available for $45. The ticket can be purchased by visiting the Speedway website and clicking “Buy Tickets.”
