January 31st 2025-In the blink of an eye the 2025 NASCAR WMT season is here.
2025 is the 4th time New Smyrna has hosted the open race of the NASCAR WMT season. The race has been a complete sell out the last two years and the same can be expected this year. As a bonus the long range forecast shows high temps in the upper 70’s to greet the thousands of race fans escaping the frigid Northeast.
31 Modifieds will look to take home their share of the increased purse, special awards and point fund money.
Last year Ron Silk started last season strong with the win in the New Smyrna Beach Area Visitors Bureau 200, his second New Smyrna Speedway win in a row. He held the point lead throughout the spring and summer until Justin Bonsignore got blazing hot late in the year to win the championship.
Matt Hirschman won the inaugural race in 2022.
The usual top teams will be there led by Justin Bonsignore, Ron Silk, Beers, Emerling, Lutz and Hirschman Hot on their heels will drivers like Newman, Rypkema, Baldwin, Kyle Bonsignore and Andrew Krause all looking for their portion of the $149,447 posted awards.
