Barre, VT — After a spectacular start to the 2025 season just last Saturday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, the Stars and Cars of the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour set their sights on Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway. The Pine Tree State 125 is sure to be the latest showdown between Gabe Brown and Derek Gluchacki, as both look to mount a strong offensive with their eyes on the $20,000 championship prize while they’ll be plenty of competitors standing in their way on Sunday afternoon!
The longtime, unofficial Vacationland home of the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour, Oxford Plains Speedway has held events for the Vermont-based Tour for forty-five years. The Pine Tree State 125 on Sunday, April 27 marks the 84th point-counting event at the Maine oval since the ‘Pine Tree Open 100’ which, interestingly enough, was also held on April 27 back in 1980!
In recent years, the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour trips to Oxford Plains Speedway have been games of strategy to the bitter end. Last season, Jesse Switser kept his Ford Mustang ahead of the rain to claim the Pine Tree State 125 and the spring trek up Route 26 will once again pit the championship chasers against one another.
Coming off a dominant run up front last Saturday to take his first New Hampshire Motor Speedway win, defending Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour champion Gabe Brown is looking forward to Oxford. The 2018 Super Late Model track champion also nabbed his first ACT win at Oxford back in 2023 and would love nothing more than to add a second trophy to his mantle this early in the year. Derek Gluchacki will also be one to watch with the two-time Oxford Plain Speedway winner looking to continue his strong start in both the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour and the Kulwicki Driver Development Program (KDDP) standings.
Oxford Plains Speedway is set to turn into Little Quebec this Sunday, with a large Canadian contingent set to invade the 3/8-mile oval. After rains changed the Northeast Classic date, Chicoutimi’s Michael Lavoie and St-Edouard’s Dany Trepanier will make the Maine trip, as will Sebastien Couture, Philippe Poulin and Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour full-timers Raphael Lessard, Jonathan Bouvrette and Remi Perreault. Alexendre Tardif is once again set to jump behind the wheel of the Jason Glaude-owned #31CT while Will Larue will join Lessard with the Larue America team in full force for Oxford.
D.J. Shaw is among those looking to take down a first Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour win at Oxford on Sunday to stay strong in the championship chase while Erick Sands will look for redemption after leading 114 laps last August before having to settle for second. Riverside, Rhode Island’s Connor Souza leads the Rookie standings but keep an eye out for Maine rookie Colby Meserve, set to stand tall in his home state.
Next up for the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour is the Pine Tree State 125 at the famed Oxford Plains Speedway on Sunday, April 27. Alongside the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Models, PASS Modifieds, Wicked Good Vintage Racers, Legends and Bandoleros, the Stars and Cars of the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour will contend in round two of fourteen for the $20,000 championship check! Pits open at Oxford Plains Speedway Sunday at 8:00am with Post Time set for 1:00pm.
