Barre, VT – Thunder Road Speedbowl and Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour officials announced this morning that the 27th annual Community Bank 150, originally scheduled for Sunday, May 4, has been postponed due to the forecast. The Community Bank 150 has been moved to Sunday, June 1 with all four originally-scheduled divisions. All Pit Passes purchased for the originally scheduled event will be honored on June 1, teams must keep and present them at the gate as their rain-check.
A favorable forecast for the weekend on Friday morning gave officials an optimistic outlook but it turned for the worst through Saturday night. With no clear end in sight, officials made the difficult decision to postpone the Community Bank 150 event to Sunday, June 1.
“From what several different projections and outlets showed on Friday, we were all hands on deck and ready to kick off the season but that’s not how it ended up,” said Thunder Road and ACT managing partner Cris Michaud. “It’s obviously been a difficult start to the season for all of us but we’re looking forward to Star Speedway next Sunday for the (ACT) Tour and the Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic here at Thunder Road in a few weeks.”
The Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour is back on the road next Sunday for the Coastal Clash 150 at Star Speedway in Epping, New Hampshire.
Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl will now kick off the 66th season of racing on Sunday, May 25 with the 62nd Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic. The 125-lap Memorial Day Classic kicks off the King of the Road track championship season for the Maplefields/Irving Late Models alongside the annual visit from the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series! The Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, rk Miles Street Stocks and Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors join the holiday special for a five-division showdown.
