(6-30-25) Whenever the opportunity presents itself Evergreen Raceway will bring fans night-time racing under the lights and that will indeed be the case this coming Saturday, July 5.
Evergreen Raceway carefully coordinates its yearly schedule to minimize conflicts with other competing tracks. This approach ensures that fans and drivers have ample opportunities to support Evergreen as well as other local and regional paved racetracks, and this weekend is one of those times that the 1/3-mile paved oval can bring their loyal fans a Saturday evening show, as opposed to the more traditional Sunday afternoon programs.
On the docket will be five divisions which will include 602 Crate Modifieds, Late Models, Harry’s U-Pull-It Street Stocks, Rotten-and-Forgotten plus the Modified Micro Stocks.
The Himmer Graphics Four Cylinders have been given the night off.
As an added bonus and in celebration of the 4th of July Holiday, a Fireworks show will take place thanks to presenting sponsor The Wire Guys of Hazle Township.
There will also be open practice earlier in the day for anyone who would like to get in some additional track time.
Evergreen is coming off a very entertaining “Summer Slam” Sunday afternoon show that was run by Rich Tobias as part of Foley Action Track USA Extras. For the first time in over a decade the All Pro SpeedSTRs took to the Evergreen pavement with noted open cockpit star Matt Janisch scoring the popular win.
Now it’s on to this Saturday which has a 6:00 pm start time.
When Paulie Hartwig III won the 602 Crate Modified feature this past Sunday, he became the third different winner in as many races thus far and considering just how close the competition has been it’s likely to see a fourth name grace Fairway Chevrolet Victory Lane.
In the Late Models defending champ Mike Sweeney is having a great season, picking up both main events held, although Nick Ross has been nipping at his heels with second place finishes to Sweeney each time. Marc Aigeldinger has shown good speed and that he is on the cusp of his first win and the same goes for several others such as Evan Beretta, Roger Maynor, Brian Romig Jr., and Brandon Cook to name a few.
Thomas Flanagan came out to race on Sunday and in his first time on track in 2025 he put on a rousing show that gained him a thrilling victory over Gordie Buchman. Flanagan is the third different winner to date with the Streeters.
Fans have come to enjoy the uniqueness of the Rotten-and-Forgotten, a division that are mostly made up of dirt cars and continually put on some very close fender-to-fender racing.
The Modified Micro Stocks have been invited back after their night was cut short the last time they appeared – which incidentally was a Saturday in May – but due to rain delays and a curfew they never got on track.
This class of racers is amazing in the fact they circle the oval at blistering speeds at times equals or betters their larger counterparts.
For anyone wishing to take part in open practice the session starts at 1:00 pm and runs to 4:00 pm. Open practice is $25 per car.
Grandstands will open for regular racing at 4:00 pm. Adult admission is $15, $13 for seniors, and active military. Kids 12 and under are free. Pits are $40 per person. Racing will begin with heats starting at 6:00 pm.
