Barre, VT – The crossed flags have come down on the 2025 season at Thunder Road International Speedbowl with the annual Times Argus Midseason Championships! Easily the most important night of the championship season for the Thunder Road faithful, Times Argus Midseason Championships award double points plus the first FloRacing Double Purse night of the season and the fan-favorite Autograph Session!
Following his record-tying fourth Vermont Lottery Governor’s Cup victory last Thursday, Barre’s Jason Corliss is in the hunt for another historic check mark on his resume. Corliss is currently tied at three King of the Road track championships with the likes of Cris Michaud, Phil Scott and Derrick O’Donnell but would love to add another record-tying fourth championship with Chuck Beede! Drivers that need to capitalize on the Times Argus Midseason Championship 75 include former champ Christopher Pelkey and defending Vermont Milk Bowl winner Marcel Gravel. Both remain winless so far this season and the double point win on Thursday would go a long way to shape the rest of their season at The Road.
The Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers continue to chase Sam Caron but all eyes will be on Cameron Ouelette and Brendan Moodie. The two are separated by just one point and look to use the Times Argus double points to break the stalemate for second. Another driver desperate to use the double points to his advantage is Logan Powers. Powers took the double point Midseason Championship win at White Mountain Motorsports Park on Saturday and would certainly like to be in the same position at Thunder Road following this Thursday’s 50-lap trophy dash.
The rk Miles Street Stocks find themselves firmly in the control of Berlin’s Kyler Davis. Davis continues to hard-charge through the field week after week, coming from twentieth on the grid last week to take down the win but he’s not the only one. Leading rookie campaigner Hayden Bushey drove up through the field to pass 24 cars and claim the Noyle Johnson $50 hard-charger award with his second place run behind Davis last week. Dean Switser Jr., Nate ‘Tater’ Brien, ‘Flyin’ Fred Fleury and Jamie Davis are among the other top drivers who can fly from back to front and will attempt to do so again in this week’s 35-lap main event!
After a week of rest and recuperation, the Burnett Scrap Metal Road Warriors are back in action this Thursday to participate in the Times Argus Midseason Championships and fight for the FloRacing Double Purse! While no points are awarded to the Road Warrior division, the gloves certainly come off for a chance at winning one of Thunder Road’s marquee events. All your favorite Warriors will also be present for the annual Autograph Session along the frontstretch.
Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl returns to racing action this Thursday, July 24 for the all-important Times Argus Midseason Championships with extra-distance racing for double points and the FloRacing Double Purse on the line. The Maplefields/Irving Late Models, Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, rk Miles Street Stocks and Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors back in action with a 7:00pm Post Time and Driver Autograph Session on the schedule! Grandstands open at 5:00pm with adult general admission set at $15, kids 12-6 for $5 and children five and under free! The Family Four Pack (two adults, two kids) is also available for $30.
