Barre, VT – Thursday night’s showcase at Thunder Road kicks off an important stretch of racing to both round out the month of July and kick-off an exciting month of August. The annual WDEV Radio/Calkins Portable Toilets Night on Thursday, July 31 is headlined by both the Squier Cup Championship 100 presented by Milton CAT and the late, great Ken Squier’s World Famous Port-a-Potty Grand Prix!

The Maplefields/Irving Oil Late Models go 100 laps on Thursday night to crown the first champion of the 2025 season at Thunder Road. The 2nd annual Squier Cup Triple Crown presented by Milton CAT will go to one driver this Thursday and following his record-tying win in the Vermont Lottery Governor’s Cup just two weeks ago, Jason Corliss is currently the man to beat. The Barre driver leads both the Squier Cup and the track championship points with Memorial Day Classic winner Bryan Wall Jr., defending Squier Cup champion Scott Dragon, Christopher Pelkey and Marcel Gravel within firing distance for the Triple Crown.

Milton’s Sam Caron may just be the luckiest Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tiger driver of the year. Caron has led the points all season long but when calamity struck early in last week’s double point Midseason Championships, the former track champion never faltered. He returned from the pits and climbed back up to his tenth top-10 in as many starts this year, a fact his closest competitors wish wasn’t true! Coming through the halfway point of the season, Cameron Ouellette, Michael MacAskill and Brendan Moodie all remain in striking distance of the top spot as they look to hunt down the WDEV trophy dash on Thursday.

The rk Miles Street Stocks find themselves in a similar position with Kyler Davis seemingly planting his flag atop the standings in the hunt for his first track championship. In a wild turn of events following the Governor’s Cup and Midseason Championships, ‘Flyin’ Fred Fleury, Nate ‘Tater’ Brien, top rookie Hayden Bushey and Jamie Davis now make the top five point runners with Bushey still looking for his first point-paying win of the season. Thursday will also mark the first round in the Vermont Agency of Transportation Triple Crown for the Street Stocks with Sunday’s 50 lapper and next Thursday’s 25-lap dash setting the stage!

Following his last lap win in last week’s Midseason Championships, Derrick Mann has been elected to represent the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors in the Ken Squier Original Port-a-Potty Grand Prix this Thursday. Mann and the Road Warrior pushers will face off against Caron, Davis and Corliss for one of Thunder Road’s greatest and most unique honors; The coveted Golden Toilet Seat!

Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl crowns its first champion of 2025 next Thursday, July 31 on WDEV/Calkins Portable Toilets Night. Along with the annual Port-a-Potty Grand Prix, the Squier Cup Triple Crown presented by Milton CAT for the Maplefields/Irving Late Models is on the line in the 100-lap championship event! The Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, rk Miles Street Stocks and Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors are also back in action with a 7:00pm Post Time. Adult general admission is set at $15, kids 12-6 are $5 with children 5 and under free! The Family Four Pack (two adults, two kids) is also available for $30.

Don’t look now but the People’s Race is right around the corner! The 41st annual Bolduc Metal Recycling Enduro 200 is set for Sunday, August 3 with a hundred slightly modified street cars ready to take on the Barre highbanks for the $3,000 grand prize and the best bragging rights in the State of Vermont! The Enduro begins with the annual rk Miles Street Stock 50 lap special that serves as Round #2 in the AOT Triple Crown. Sunday’s Post Time is set for 6:00pm
