(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway is set to host the biggest SK Modified® race of the 2025 season this Friday, August 1st with the NAPA SK 5k. The 12th edition of the $5,000 to win race boasts over $35,000 in purse and contingency money, but that won’t be the only money getting paid out to SK Modified® drivers this Friday. The NAPA SK 5k will serve as the third and final race of the TickMike.com Triple Crown with $20,000 to be paid out to SK Modified® drivers. Combined with the NAPA SK 5k total posted awards, SK Modified® drivers will be chasing their share of over $55,000 in prizes this Friday night.
The TickMike.com Triple Crown, announced back in February, consisted of the three SK Modified® extra distance events, the Casella Waste 80 on June 13th, the CBYD Senators Cup 50 on June 20th, and the NAPA SK 5k set for this Friday, August 1st. The program provides a $20,000 point fund that will be distributed evenly among SK Modified® drivers who have started all three TickMike.com Triple Crown events. With 25 drivers having raced each of the first two legs of the TickMike.com Triple Crown, each driver would receive a bonus of $800 if the split remains at 25 drivers.
SK Modified® drivers will also be racing for a major bonus this Friday as part of the TickMike.com Triple Crown. This special mini-series awards points based on finishes in three extra-distance events throughout the season. The Triple Crown Champion will walk away with a Mac Daddy JR Fastener Assortment from BoltsandNuts.com, valued at over $4,500. This massive prize includes nearly 19,000 pieces—bolts, nuts, screws, and washers—organized in multiple bins and drawers.

Michael Christopher, Jr. has to be the favorite to win the Mac Daddy JR as he has won each of the first two legs of the Triple Crown and goes into the NAPA SK 5k with a perfect 100 points to his name. Mikey Flynn and Marcello Rufrano are the only other drivers to have top-5 finishes in each of the first 2 races of the TickMike.com Triple Crown with Flynn sitting at 88 points and Rufrano 86 points going into the NAPA SK 5k. Michael Gervais, Jr. is fourth in the TickMike.com Triple Crown standings with 80 points, and Max Zachem is fifth with 76 points.
“We’re going to be looking to go for the clean sweep,” said Christopher. “We’ve already got two so we just need one more. We’ve won the 5k before and I wasn’t as happy with the car as I wanted to be last week, so we’ve already made some changes and we’ll be good to go for 112 laps.”
