OSWEGO, NY… Buffalo, NY’s Andy Cryan won the Dave London Memorial XVII at the Oswego Speedway Friday night for the Super Stocks. With his third-place finish, Vestal, NY’s Garrett Zacharias earned the Oswego Speedway Super Stock track championship. BJ Wambold from won the New York State Compact Championship for the second consecutive season.

Tucker Muffley and Garrett Zacharias shared the front row for the Dave London Memorial XVII main event, with Zacharias taking the lead. The caution would come out as Muffley spun in turn one with Tim Faro getting involved. On the restart, Zacharias and Andy Cryan were on the front row, with Zacharias in the lead ahead of Cryan and Eric Kocher. Cryan would take over the top spot on lap two.

After a lap five caution, Andy Cryan would restart the race from the back of the pack, and that he would. Kocher would take over the lead ahead of Zacharias and Johnny Bennett.

A multi-car incident would happen off turn two involving race leaders Kocher and Zacharias. Tim Gullo would take over the lead on lap 35. Cryan would drive all the way through the field to take over the lead on lap 38. Zacharias was able to continue on and he would drive through the field over the last 15 laps to get back to the podium.

Cryan would win his second straight DLM event, over Gullo and Zacharias. Mike Hyman and Western New York racer Dustin Nova would complete the top five finishers. Adam Sigeret would start 21st on the grid and he would finish in sixth.

“The shift linkage broke so we had to fix that before it event got started,” Cryan explained in victory lane.

“We made it pretty good to get through the field, and the few cautions helped us get second,” Gullo said.

“I don’t know how I was able to do that,” Zacharias said. “With having to go to the pits after being involved in the wreck to having to drive the car differently, I still cant believe we made it back to third. Being honest with you, if we had another 25 laps, I think we could have won it”.

With his third-place finish, Zacharias did clinch the Oswego Speedway Super Stock track championship. He is the first driver in over 20 years to earn a Super Stock track title at “The Steel Palace”.

BJ Wambold would inherit the lead, with Edleman challenging for the lead. Wambold would go on to score the win.

“I honestly had no clue if I was able to get the second one”, Wambold said in victory lane. “The motor that was in the car was on the floor in the shop yesterday and we were able to get it in. I still can’t believe we did it again,” Wambold said.
