Barre, VT – It has all come down to this. One final Thursday night of the season and one last chance for your highbank heroes to do good on their championship hopes at Thunder Road International Speedbowl during Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Championship Night. While there’s sure to be plenty of fireworks on the asphalt, there will also be plenty of fireworks in the sky following the racing action courtesy of Northstar Fireworks of East Montpelier!

The spotlights will shine most, coincidentally enough, on the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers on Lenny’s Championship Night. Barre’s Cameron Ouellette holds a slim seven-point lead over 2022 Flying Tiger champion Sam Caron. Milton’s Caron has shown time and time again his power to bounce back from deficits, just last week nearly crashing out partway through the 100 lap event just to power back and finish fifth in a twenty-nine car field. Ouellette, however, has shown veteran consistency this year, his 13th year in the Tiger ranks, with just one finish outside the top-ten in eighteen events this year. Although winless, Ouellette has his eyes on the big prize with 50 laps to wrap up a stellar season if he can hold Caron back in the end.

The Maplefields/Irving Late Models will go for 66 laps on Thursday as 2025 serves as Thunder Road’s 66th season after opening to a sell-out crowd back in June of 1960. Barre’s Jason Corliss is standing on the edge of history, looking to become the first four-time King of the Road in the modern Late Model era and surpass Chuck Beede’s three-in-a-row run during the development of the division from 1992 through 1994. Coincidentally enough, Corliss will also tie back up with Beede if he claims his fourth crown, matching the longtime Williamstown driver and current Thunder Road head technical inspector with his own 1985 King of the Road run with the top-billed Flying Tiger division.

The rk Miles Street Stocks continue to be in the clutches of Berlin’s Kyler Davis who still stands tall, now 68-points ahead of standout rookie Hayden Bushey of Fairfax. While the two top young guns are the only ones with enough points to go all the way on paper, there’s still plenty of moves that could be made among the top-ten in the standings this Thursday. As with the Late Model field, there will be plenty of Street Stockers looking down the barrel at the last chance for a Thursday night win at Thunder Road this year. Be on the lookout for plenty of big moves in all feature events during Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Championship night.

The Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors take a different approach this Thursday as they will start feature racing action ahead of the three championship battles. The non-point division is all about fun and they might have the most on one of the most stressful nights of the season!

Thunder Road is back for the final Thursday night of the season to crown the 2025 Track Champions on Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Night! Complete with Northstar Fireworks, the Maplefields/Irving Oil Late Models, Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers and rk Miles Street Stocks will all crown their 2025 champions with the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors joining the show with a special 6:00pm Post Time! Adult general admission is set at $15, kids 12-6 are $5 and children five and under are free. The Family Four Pack (two adults, two kids) is also available for $30.
