Rookie 602 Modifieds, Street Stocks, Four Cylinders, Rotten-and-Forgotten and East Coast Legends also in action
(Butler Township, Pa. 4-26-26) As preparations for Evergreen Raceway’s Opening Day are ongoing, the excitement continues to build among racers, staff, and fans alike. Scheduled for Sunday afternoon, May 3, the day promises to be action-packed. With anticipation running high, all involved are working diligently to ensure a successful start to the 2026 racing season.
Track owner/promoter Jason Makarewicz and staff have been keeping very busy readying the 1/3-mile paved oval for Sunday’s season lid-lifter.
“We’ve already run a few events like Enduros and we just wrapped up a weekend of Drifting plus had a few practices so we got things just about ready to go,” said Makarewicz, who will be starting his 11th season at the helm.
“There has been a lot of excitement leading up to next Sunday and getting the weekly action underway. We’re looking forward to a great day of racing here at Evergreen.”
The day’s line-up will be headlined with Tour Type Modifieds along with the Harry’s U-Pull-It Street Stocks, Himmer Graphics Four Cylinders, Rotten-and-Forgotten and the East Coast Legends.
Sunday will also mark the debut of the Rookie 602 Crate Modifieds.
“The new Rookie 602 Crate Modified class is really looking good. We have had so many inquiries, and it appears this is going to be a great class for younger drivers looking to make the move into a Modified,” said Makarewicz.
“We gave it some close thought and feel that adding a Rookie 602 Crate Modified class will be the right thing to do for them and this will better prepare them for moving into the regular 602 division. The class will be aimed for younger drivers but not limited to them either.”
Rules will remain the same as the regular 602’s apart from a restrictor plate and gearing that will be added. You will need to be approved to run the class. There will be no points awarded or a champion crowned.
Sunday’s pit gates will open at 10:30 am and grandstands at noon. Racing will begin at 2:00 pm. Adult grandstand admission is priced at a reasonable $15. Kids 12 and under are free. Pit admission is $40 for all ages.
Please note there will be no JuiceBox Division activities taking place as originally advertised.
The day prior, Saturday, May 2, there will be an open practice taking place from noon to 4:00 pm. Pit admission for May 2 is $25 per person. The grandstands are free.
The following Sunday, May 10, will be an Action Track USA Extras event promoted by Richie Tobias. The All Pro SpeedSTRs, 602 Crate Modifieds, Street Stocks, Four Cylinders, Slingshots, and ECTQM will be on the docket. Race time is 5:00 pm.
