HAMPTON, Virginia — Brandon Pierce and the Kevin Powell Speed Motorsports
team showed resilience and determination Saturday night during the zMAX
CARS Tour visit to Langley Speedway. Pierce and the No. 2 Polaris Off Road
Chevrolet steadily improved throughout the event and positioned themselves for
a strong finish before a late-race incident ended their charge with just five laps
remaining.

Throughout the race, Pierce worked his way through the highly competitive field,
making impressive gains and establishing himself as one of the fastest cars on
track during the closing stages of the event. As the laps wound down, the Kevin
Powell Speed Motorsports driver had raced his way near the top ten and was
ready to capitalize on his momentum.

Unfortunately, contact with another competitor with five laps remaining ended
what had been a very promising night for the No. 2 team.
“Super frustrating because I think we were actually like when that last lap
completed probably gonna be about 11th and I think we were good enough to
probably run 8th to 10th,” said Pierce. “But that doesn’t take away from the
effort from all these KP Speed Motorsports guys”

While the final result did not reflect the speed of the No. 2 machine, the team’s
ability to improve throughout the weekend provided plenty of encouragement
heading into the next event on the schedule.

Pierce and the Kevin Powell Speed Motorsports team would like to thank Polaris
Off Road, CrossRoads Harley-Davidson, Thunder Road Harley-Davidson of
Danville, Virginia, OneWraps, Kevinsaysyes.com, Grand Atlantic Ocean Resort,
Driveshaft Shop, Bleecker Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, and all of the team’s
partners and supporters for their continued commitment throughout the season.
The next event for Pierce will take place June 13th at Dominion Raceway as the
team continues its pursuit of strong performances in zMAX CARS Tour
competition.
