FOUR-DIVISION RACING FEATURING MOIFIEDS, SPORTSMAN, STREET STOCKS, AND NORTH EAST WINGLESS SPRINTS
MIDDLETOWN, NY (July 31)……..Racing returns to the historic Orange County Fair Speedway on Sunday,
August 9 when Brian Smith’s Superior Remodeling presents “Anniversary Night” celebrating 107 years of
racing at one of America’s oldest speedways. Seeing action will be the DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, Tri-State
Drywall Sportsman, Interstate Batteries of Southern New York Street Stocks, and honoring Orange County’s
heritage of open-wheel competition, the North East Wingless Sprints (NEWS). Qualifying heat races will set
the feature race fields for all four divisions—Modifieds 30 laps, Sportsman and Sprints 20 laps, and Street
Stocks 15 laps.
“This is our fourth Big Series 3 race meet of 2026, and we’re extremely proud of the large and super
competitive fields we’re drawn in all three divisions,” said Race Organizer Brett Hearn. “And the upcoming
August 9 program has added intensity for our top three Modified and Sportsman drivers. At stake after
Champions Night on September 20, are guaranteed starting slots seven eight, and nine in their respective
October 65 th Annual Eastern States Championship feature races.”
Currently leading the DIRTcar Big-Block Modified point standings is Anthony Perrego, with 291 points. He’s
followed by Ryan Godown (284 points), Tyler Dippel (275), Danny Creeden (270), and Danny Bouc (265).
Topping the Tri-State Drywall Sportsman points is Cole Hentschel, with 293 points. Second through fifth are
Jarad LaBagh (290 points), Travis Green (258), AJ Albreada (257), and Joe Toth (256).
In addition, it’s also Backpack Night, with youngsters accompanied by a paid admission adult receiving a fully
loaded “Back to School” backpack. This is a project of Junior Misses OCFS Rilee Davies and Shelby-Jo Murphy
and Mrs. Stacey Coddington. Already more than 90 fully-loaded backpacks are awaiting young fans. But right
up until the gates open on August 9, additional backpacks or cash donations will be accepted at the speedway
office.
On race day August 9, the pits will open 2:00 pm; the stands at 3:00 pm. Cars on the track at 4:45 pm, racing
at 6:00 PM. Even with the added division, there will be no increase in admission prices. General admission
Adults $20 stands or drive-in, Seniors $15, Children 12 and under $5. Party Deck $30 each minimum of two.
Parking on the fairgrounds is free, Drive-In parking $5. Pit passes $35.
Accredited writers and photographers as well as folks with guest passes are requested to sign in at the
Speedway Office. Requests for Media credentials must be applied for by Friday, July 31. Text or email Doug
