Robie Makes Late-Race Move on Renfrew for PASS 150 Win

Barre, VT — The Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour and Pro All Stars Series both returned to Riverside Speedway & Adventure Park for the first time since 2020 on Sunday afternoon. The PASS Modifieds kicked off the feature racing action following qualifying for the four divisions present. Jeremy Davis had the win in the palm of his hand as the cautions piled up late in their 50-lap feature. Through trial and tribulation, Tamworth, New Hampshire’s Jeremy Davis nailed down the win in the wild feature showcase with Jacoby Maines and Tyler Connolly making it through Beaver Norton’s backslide in the final restart to finish second and third.

The PASS Super Late Models were next on track with Garrett Hall and Cole Robie trading the lead, and plenty of paint, in the early goings. Jimmy Renfrew Jr. took charge shortly thereafter, leading the majority of the 150-lap marathon with things heating up late in the game. With just ten laps to go, Renfrew went on the defense as Robie powered back into the picture. Robie was all over his rear bumper, getting underneath Renfrew on the backstretch to steal the lead with five laps remaining. Cole Robie would walk away with the win over Jimmy Renfrew, Jr. while Jimmy Hebert took home third.

Former Riverside Speedway Late Model champion Stephen Donahue wowed the ACT Twin-State Flying Tigers on Sunday. The Thunder Road regular took the wheel from father John once again in the Tiger ranks and earned the pole position over White Mountain hotshoe Cameron Ouellette. Donahue took the jump and even survived the lone restart following the lap 26 caution to dominate the 75-lap event and take the win over Ouellette and Eric Messier.

While qualifying attrition cut down the twenty-six hopefuls to a 22-car starting field, the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour put on the show of the day to round out Sunday’s racing action at Riverside Speedway. Former track champion and weekly competitor Jeff Marshall took off with the lead over polesitter Jonathan Bouvrette at the drop of the green flag. Marshall maintained the lead through a pair of cautions on lap 23 and again on lap 24, taking a staggering half-track lead over his closest competitor in Nick Sweet.

Sweet nabbed the lead on lap 107 following the full-field rerack for the final caution on lap 94 that collected point leader Gabe Brown and Matt Pepin. Marshall fell back but maintained a top-five run until his right front tire gave out and ended his day prematurely. Meanwhile out front, Sweet came under intense pressure from Jesse Switser. The pair already battled it out on the Groveton a month ago in the Keith Morse Memorial and fans in the stands and at home on the North East Short Track Network (NESTN) got to watch part two play out.

In the final ten laps the duo swapped lanes constantly, working each other’s patience in the closing stages with Switser finally able to snag the lead away on lap 147 and kept his foot to the firewall to win the Great North Woods 150. Sweet finished second with Gabe Brown recovering to take home third. Erick Sands saved some in the end, making up several spots in the last fifteen laps to take fourth over Bryan Mason.

Jonathan Bouvrette recovered from early handling problems to finish sixth followed by Shawn Swallow, Geoff Rollins, Brandon Lambert and Jason Corliss to round out the top ten.
