(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway hosted another round of Weekly Racing on Friday, July 31st. Feature winners on the night were Keith Rocco in the SK modified® feature, Kevin Gambacorta in the Late Model feature, Robert Bloxsom, III in the SK Light feature, Gary Patnode in the Limited Late Model feature, and Jason Raymond in the Street Stock feature.
In the 40-lap SK Modified® feature, Dylan Izzo took the lead at the start of the race with Wesley Prucker and Mikey Flynn wheel to wheel for second and Todd Owen and Anthony Flannery side by side for fourth place. Flynn took second on lap-4 with Prucker and Owen now side by side for third and Flannery and Keith Rocco wheel to wheel for fifth place behind them.
Owen took third on lap-5 but Rocco pulled alongside Owen on la-6 before falling back into line in fourth place. Tyler Chapman was up to fifth behind Rocco with Glen Reen sixth, Michael Christopher, Jr. seventh, Prucker eighth, Jon Puleo ninth and Flannery tenth.
With 10 laps complete, Izzo was still in the lead with Flynn, Rocco, Chapman, and Owen making up the top-5. Izzo’s car dropped off the pace on lap-12 while in the lead and he slowly made his way to pit road and the following lap saw Chapman abruptly pull off the track while running second. This promoted Flynn and Rocco into the top-2 spots with Rocco taking the lead from Flynn on lap-15. Owen was now third behind the two leaders with Reen fourth and Christopher fifth.
With 10 laps to go, it was still Rocco in the lead with Flynn, Reen, Christopher, and Owen making up the top-5. Andrew Molleur was sixth with Flannery, Troy Talman, Alexander Pearl, and Marcello Rufrano making up the top-10. Molleur made a move around Owen to take fifth place on lap-38 but it was all Rocco as he took the checkered flag to pick up his third win of the 2026 season. Flynn finished second with Reen, Christopher, and Molleur rounding out the top-5.
In the 30-lap Late Model feature, Kevin Gambacorta took the lead at the start of the race with Wayne Coury, Jr. taking second. Adon Burrell and Chris Meyer ran side by side for third with Burrell taking third on lap-3. Chris Buffone was fourth but he went by Burrell on lap-4 to move into third. Buffone’s move allowed Paul Varricchio, Jr. to take fourth and Adam Gray fifth as Burrell was stuck in the outside lane. Burrell fell back to eighth place behind Meyer with Josh Wood in seventh. Darrell Keane spun coming out of turn 4 to bring the caution flag out with 6 laps complete.
Gambacorta took the lead on the restart with Buffone taking second behind him. Gray moved up to third with Varricchio fourth and Coury fell from second back to fifth. Just behind Coury was Meyer and Burrell. Varricchio lost 2 spots on lap-11 when he drifted up the track in turns 3+4 as Coury moved into fourth and Meyer fifth.
With 8 laps to go, Gambacorta and Buffone had pulled away from Gray in third with Coury and Meyer making up the top-5. Varricchio was sixth followed by Wood, Michael Bennett, Burrell, and Damian Palardy. Gray, Coury, and Meyer were racing hard for third an lap-28 saw Coury finally able to make a move to get by Gray and move into third. Meyer followed him by to take fourth and drop Gray back to fifth but it was Gambacorta leading all 30-laps to take down his first win of the 2026 season in dominating fashion. Buffone finished second with Coury, Meyer, and Gray rounding out the top-5.
In the 20-lap SK Light feature, Dylan Houghton went 3-wide in turn 4 to take the lead on the opening lap with Travis Downey in second and Paul Arcari in third. Cassandra Cole was fourth but she took third from Arcari and then went to the outside of Downey on lap-3 for second. Ben Morrison was fourth in line behind Houghton, Cole, and Downey with Daltin McCarthy fifth. The caution flew with 7 laps complete for a spin in turn 3 by Chris Matthews with Casey Vogt and Amanda West also getting collected.
Houghton and Cole were wheel to wheel for the lead on the restart with Houghton holding the lead at the line. Cole made a move to Houghton’s inside on lap-8 and she had the lead by inches at the line. Sami Anderson and Morrison were side by side behind the two leaders fighting for third place with Travis Downey and Robert Bloxsom, III side by side behind them for fifth place. Cole and Houghton were still wheel to wheel on lap-11 when the caution came out for 3 cars, Austin Goff, John Brunelle, and Chad Jones all came together in turn 1.
Cole took the lead on the restart with Houghton and Bloxsom going wheel to wheel for second place. Morrison was fourth with Sami Anderson and McCarthy side by side for fifth place. Bloxsom took third on lap-15 with Anderson taking fourth from Morrison. Houghton came back to the inside of Cole and he moved back into the lead as the field completed lap-16.
Bloxsom took second behind Houghton with Cole third, Anderson fourth, and Nick Anglace made his first appearance of the race in the top-5. The caution came back out with 17 laps complete for Paul Arcari and Jake Hines, who both came to a stop against the turn 1 wall with Anthony Forino also involved.
Bloxsom took the lead on the restart with Houghton taking second. Anderson was third in line with McCarthy fourth and Tyler Barry fifth. Houghton tried to make a last lap pass coming out of turn 4 but he didn’t quite have enough momentum to make the pass as Bloxsom took down his third win of the 2026 season. Houghton finished second with Anderson, McCarthy, and Barry rounding out the top-5.
In the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature, Norm Root, Duane Provost, and Gary Patnode went 3-wide for the lead with Root emerging in the lead. Patnode and Provost were side by side for second before Patnode took second on lap-3. Devon Jencik was fourth with Rich Hammann fifth in the early laps.
Patnode worked his way to the inside of Root on lap-5 and he took the lead by a nose at the line. Patnode cleared into the lead on lap-6 before the caution flew for spins in turn 1 by Matt Clement and Ari Jencik.
Patnode took the lead on the restart with Devon Jencik taking second. Rich Hammann took third with Jason Lafayette taking fourth from Root one lap after the restart. With 12 laps complete Patnode was still in command with Deon Jencik, Lafayette, Hammann, and Root making up the top-5. Kyle Theriault was sixth followed by Provost, Travis Hydar, Adrien Paradis, III, and Matt Clement.
With 2 laps to go, Patnode had stretched out his lead over the trio of Devon Jencik, Lafayette, and Hammann, who were fighting hard with each other for second place. Patnode led the field to the checkered flag to pick up his second win of the 2026 season. Lafayette made a last lap pass and edged Devon Jencik out for second by a nose with Hammann and Root rounding out the top-5.
In the 20-lap Street Stock feature, Scott Sundeen and PJ Evans went door to door for the lead on the opening lap before Brent Gleason made a 3-wide move on lap-2 to pass both Sundeen and Evans to take over the lead. Brandon Warren was now in second behind Gleason with Evans slotting into third. Evans would lose third place to Kolton Gambacorta on lap-4 with Ryan Waterman taking fourth to drop Evans back to fifth place.
Warren took the lead from Gleason on lap-7 with Gambacorta taking second and Waterman third to drop Gleason back to fourth. Mike Caprio was now up to fifth with Jason Raymond right behind him in sixth as the cars approached the halfway point of the race.
Caprio took fourth on lap-10 with Raymond taking fifth to drop Gleason from fourth back to sixth as Warren continued to lead with Gambacorta and Waterman both giving chase. Just as Waterman took second from Gambacorta, the caution came out for a spin in turn 4 by Roger Mahieu, which put Gambacorta back in second next to Warren with Waterman and Raymond on the second row for the restart.
Warren took the lead back under green with Waterman taking second. Raymond moved into third with Evans fourth and Gleason fifth. Gambacorta was stuck in the outside lane and he slipped from second back to ninth place. Waterman took the lead from Waterman on lap-18 but he was black flagged for making contact with Warren. Raymond took over the lead with Waterman serving his penalty. Raymond led Warren to the checkered flag to pick up his second win of the 2026 season. Warren finished second with Evans, Gleason, and Caprio rounding out the top-5.
