“The Greatest Asphalt Racing Party in the Region” Returns September 10–12 with Eight Divisions as the Region’s Biggest Racing Party
North East, Pa. – (August 27, 2026) – The countdown is on to when Race of Champions Weekend takes over Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pennsylvania with three days of high-stakes racing, fan traditions, and one of the biggest celebrations in short track asphalt racing.
Race fans will definitely get there money’s worth of racing at Lake Eire Speedway during Race of Champions Weekend at the region’s Great Race Place.
Thursday, September 10 – Saturday, September 12, 2026
There is no division at the center of it all: this is a celebration of the Race of Champions Family of Series. Each Race of Champions division will be highlighted in competition over the course of the event.
Friday and Saturday will have qualifying and feature races with divisions with the Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series highlighting the Friday schedule and the Race of Champions Modified Series running their feature on Saturday, September 12. Friday, September 11 will have fan gates opening at 5:30pm and racing at 7:00pm. On Saturday, September 12, fan gates will open at 4:00pm with racing at 6:00pm.
This has become a crown jewel weekend for racer’s and fans throughout the region and this season, Race of Champions management is taking it one step further by offering traveler’s “free” onsite camping for the weekend with the purchase of a ticket for the events at Lake Erie Speedway. If you are camping there will be a small fee that includes the following – the use of “the waste station”, garbage cleanup and security. This maintains and protects the property. Race of Champions management is currently seeking a sponsor to cover these costs to eliminate this cost from attendees and will announce anything as soon as possible.
A Full Weekend Celebration
This year’s event is shaping up to be the biggest in Race of Champions history:
· Eight divisions in action, including all seven Race of Champions “Family of Series,” and the WNY Mighty TQ Midgets.
· Off-track, fans will enjoy the region’s biggest “Racing Party” atmosphere with camping, activities, and celebrations of the sport’s rich tradition.

- 12:00 PM (NOON) – Pre-Paid Pit Parking – Different than years Past. Each hauler will be Parked. If Paid, it will go in a Paid Spot. Paid Spots will be marked. If anyone pulls into a PAID SPOT they will be removed.
- 1:00 PM – Gates open for campers & hauler parking
- 2:00 PM – Pit gates open for all divisions (Practice)
- 4:00 PM – Practice by division
- DUSK – Conclusion of Practtice
