Brexton Busch won his second consecutive race of the season in the Beginner Box Stock division Sunday evening at Mountain Creek Speedway. Busch was pressured for most of the race by pole sitter Jackson Darnell for most of the race until Darnell’s day ended when he was turned on a restart in turn two. Fast qualifier Stetson Swink was second, John Marshall Pursley, third while Tanner Tucker and Wyatt Coffey completed the top five.

The Cadet division got off to a rough start but when racing finally commenced, Carson McKee held on for his first win of the season. Jaxon Sauls was second with Blaise Keene, third. Reece Beamer and Eastton Garrard were fourth and fifth. Karter Beattie was the class of the field as he also went two for two in the Box Stock division. Beattie got the advantage over Zoey Smith got shuffled around on the late race restart. Beattie then held off Kolson Nelson for the win. Smith faded as far back as sixth before driving back up to third with Wyatt Miller and Liam Kane completing the top five.

Dylan Beard was all smiles after winning his very first Yamaha 450 Outlaw A-main. Beard survived two false starts where track champion, Lou Mattesen took the advantage. The third time was the charm for Beard. After anticipating the start Beard beat Mattesen into turn one and led wire to wire. Mattesen could only get as close as a car length, had to hang on for second. Son, Wade Mattesen was third. Tony Rhinehardt and Sam Miller were fourth and fifth.

Sean Sholtis made the trip from Pennsylvania worth it as he won the 125cc division A-Main. Karter Beattie gave Sholtis a run for his money in the early stages but faded by races end. Another driver making the long haul to Mountain Creek Speedway worth it was Nebraska’s Jhett Johnson in the Jr. Wing division. Johnson battled Rhylen Watkins for the lead early until Johnson was able to open the interval between first and second. Watkins came home the runner up.

The next outlaw kart race at Mountain Creek Speedway will be May 1st.. Gates open at 12;30pm with practice beginning at 3pm. Those who can’t attend can tune in live on mountaincreekspeedway.tv When the track isn’t racing, it’s busy Monday through Friday with testing and practice sessions for everything from flat karts to national midgets.
