N. Woodstock, NH — The inaugural Wall’s Ford Platinum Late Model Series Champion will be crowned this Saturday, September 10th at White Mountain Motorsports Park. The 75-lap feature event will pay $1,500 to the winner while the Wall’s Ford Platinum Series Champion will take home a guaranteed $750 from the $1,500 Wall’s Ford purse split amongst the top three. The Ammonoosuc Asphalt Mini Late Models will also be chasing down a big money, $1,000 top prize in their 50-lap Special with feature action for the Wells River Chevrolet Flying Tigers, Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Stock Minis and Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division to boot.
So far, it’s been the Derek Gluchacki-show with the North Dartmouth, Massachusetts-native stealing away the first two rounds of the Wall’s Ford Platinum Late Model Series. After taking down the Spring Board 100 and New Hampshire Governor’s Cup 100, Gluchacki has his eyes set on the $1,500-to-Win, Wall’s Ford Platinum Championship 75 on Saturday, but so does Foley Oil & Propane Late Model leader Quinny Welch and top runners Alby Ovitt, Kasey Beattie and Jesse Switser. Of the four track regulars, Welch has the highest chance of taking the inaugural Wall’s Ford Platinum Series championship sitting just 8-points behind Gluchacki.
The Ammonoosuc Asphalt Mini Late Models return to the White Mountain quarter mile after several off weeks for their big $1,000-to-win, 50-lap special. Another Massachusetts driver, Nick Anderson, is leading the Mini Late Model points and looking for a $1,000 check and the third win in his stellar year at WMMP. Anderson may find himself out gunned on Saturday with the $1,000 payday bringing in new Mini Stock-type teams from across the Northeast to compete for the top prize and out duel the Ammonoosuc Asphalt regulars.
The Wells River Chevrolet Flying Tigers are bringing their best as the season hits the downhill slide. The tie for top of the leaderboard between Tanner Woodard and Shane Sicard was broken last week following Sicard’s 2nd-place finish to Woodard’s 3rd-place behind first-time winner Kaiden Fisher. Now on week-14, all three podium finishers from one week ago are separated by just four points with Sicard once again leading the way, Woodard now two-points back and Fisher two points behind Woodard. Still very much in the hunt in fourth is defending track champion Jason Woodard just ten-points behind Fisher and still mathematically in the title hunt should any of the top three make even the slightest bumble.
Chris Moulton and Tyler Thompson continue to show the way in the Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Stock Minis with Thompson 18-points behind Moulton. With five different winners in as many weeks, the ultra-competitive four-cylinder division is ready to light up the White Mountain high banks once again.
Also included in the Wall’s Ford Platinum Series championship program is the Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division. Two new youngsters joined the Dad’s 4 By ranks last Saturday with Logan Farnsworth grabbing his first win of the season. Wall’s Ford night will once again showcase the best of the White Mountain kids as they start their stock car racing career off right!
Thunder returns to White Mountain Motorsports Park with the final championship round of the Wall’s Ford Late Model Platinum Series on Saturday, September 10th. Along with the final of three events for the Wall’s Ford Late Model Platinum Series, White Mountain will celebrate their newest division with the $1,000-to-win, Wall’s Ford 50 for the Ammonoosuc Asphalt Mini Late Models. The Wells River Chevrolet Flying Tigers, Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Stock Minis and Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division will also be in attendance.
