GREENWOOD, LA – Caleb Dillard won the battle and the war on Saturday night at Boothill Speedway.

Dillard not only drove to victory in the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco Ollie’s Cajun Region event, the Robeline, La., driver also registered his second series championship.

Dillard started the event, Race No. 11 of the Day Motor Sports point series, from eighth position to win in dramatic fashion.

Dillard appeared headed for a third-place finish, roughly a straightaway behind the leader Alan Myers, when second-running Tommy Rascoe clipped an infield tire and spun in turn four five laps from the finish of the 25-lap main.

Dillard found the speed he needed to clear race-leading Myers with three laps remaining and drove on to the victory.

Richard Holt slipped by Myers on the final lap to earn second, his best finish of the ’22 Ollie’s Cajun Region season. Myers fell to third, followed by Keith Badiali, up from dead last as the Shed Road Auto Parts Hard Charger, and Anthony Meek.

Attention now turns to the Ollie’s ‘Cajun Swing’ set for Nov. 8-12 with events at Rocket Raceway Park in Petty, Texas Nov. 8-9, Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, La., Nov. 10 and Boothill Speedway in Greenwood, La., Nov. 11-12.  The finale at Boothill pays a massive $20,000 to the winner.
