MILLSBORO, DE – Add it to the resume.

Upper Makefield, Pa.’s Joe Toth added another accomplishment as a top Crate 602 Sportsman driver in the Northeast.

With the cancellation of the Short Track SuperNationals 15 weekend at Afton Motorsports Park, Toth is officially the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco Precision Hydraulic & Oil North Region Champion for 2023.

In the six events contested on the North Region for the STSS Crate 602 Sportsman, Toth finished in the top five in all but one, including his best finish of second at N.Y.’s Brookfield Speedway on May 28.

Toth, a two-time South Region champion, claims his first ever North Region title.

Spencertown, N.Y.’s Dylan Madsen finishes second in the North Region Standings, 56 markers behind Toth. Lake Ariel, Pa.’s Tyler Peet rounds out the top three, 82 points behind his fellow Keystone State native.

Blaine Klinger and Derrick McGrew Jr. make up the rest of the top five.

Toth also leads the Belmont’s Garage South Region standings heading into the next STSS event at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway.

The Speed Showcase Weekend takes place Thurs.-Sat Oct. 12-14.

The three-day weekend features two STSS big-block/small-block Modified feature events – the latter of which pays $50,000 to the winner – a full show for the 410 Weikert’s Livestock 410 Sprint Cars of Port Royal Speedway, a $4,000-to-win event for the STSS Crate 602 Sportsman, and a full program for the New York-based Pro Stock division.

Saturday’s headline event – a 75-lap event paying $50,000-to-win and $1,000-to-start – represents the Championship Round of the Ollie’s ‘Elite’ Series and Round No. 6 of the Rent Equip/Party Central South Region.
