Joey Logano will lead the field to green for Sunday’s Daytona 500 (2:30 p.m. ET, FOX, MRN Radio, Sirius XM NASCAR Radio). The driver of the No. 22 Team Penske Ford sped to the pole in Wednesday’s Daytona 500 single-car qualifying session with the quickest lap around the 2.5-mile oval at 181.947 mph in the final round.

Logano breaks the streak of Chevrolet sitting on the pole for the Daytona 500 and secures his first career pole in the “Great American Race.”
Michael McDowell in the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Ford was the second fastest driver and was 0.071 seconds off Logano’s lap. It will be a Ford front-row lockout for the “Great American Race”.
Reigning Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney and last year’s Daytona 500 pole winner Alex Bowman were knocked out of contention for the front two rows in Round 1 of qualifying and will look for better starting positions for Sunday through Thursday night’s Duel races.
Anthony Alfredo in the No. 62 Beard Motorsports Chevrolet and David Ragan in the No. 60 RFK Racing Ford were the two open entries that locked their starting spots into Sunday’s main event on speed. Ragan narrowly beat out Hall of Fame driver Jimmie Johnson by 0.123 seconds.

The remaining starting grid spots from third to 40th will be determined in the two Bluegreen Vacation Duel races tomorrow night (7 p.m. ET, FS1, MRN Radio, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).
