(Butler Township, Pa. 1-28-25) Subsequent to the Enduro events scheduled for February 22 and March 22, Evergreen Raceway will commence its weekly racing activities at the 1/3-mile paved oval in St. Johns with the Winter Thaw presented by Foley Action Track Opening Day on Sunday afternoon, April 13.

The Winter Thaw will be the first of four special promoted events at Evergreen under the direction of Rich Tobias. Tobias, a racer, promoter, and car builder, co-runs Foley Action Track USA, a ¼-mile dirt track in Kutztown, and is involved in the designing and promoting of the All PRO SpeedSTRs and Slingshot cars.

Tobias and Evergreen owner/promoter Jason Makarewicz have worked out a mutual agreement to bring in the All PRO SpeedSTRs and Slingshots together for the unique four race series. Starting on April 13. The following races will be contested with the Summer Slam on Sunday, June 29, the Championship Event on Sunday, August 24 and the Fall Classic taking place on Saturday, October 4.

Joining the All PRO SpeedSTRs and Slingshots will be Evergreen’s 602 Crate Modifieds, Street Stocks and Four Cylinders. Tobias has not ruled out additional classes either. The Evergreen divisions will be receiving points towards the 2025 class titles as well.

SpeedSTRs and Slingshots, typically dirt-racing cars, are returning to pavement racing at Evergreen for the first time in over 10 years.

Leading into the Winter Thaw weekend there will be an open practice on Saturday, April 12, for all classes of cars from noon to 4:00 pm or longer if necessary.

Additionally, on that Saturday will be the Circle Track Racing Experience. Participants can choose to drive or ride along in either a Modified or Late Model stock car.

Furthermore, an Anything Swap Meet/Yard Sale will be held. Individuals with items to sell or trade are welcome to participate. Vendor spots are $25 each.

And, throughout the day there will be the first Evergreen Raceway Food Fare featuring a wide variety of food truck vendors.

Evergreen Raceway will start 2025 rolling with its first on track action on Saturday afternoon, February 22 at 1:00 pm, with a 100-lap 4/6-cylinder Gut-n-Go Enduro, plus an 8-cylinder Enduro feature. A second Enduro is slated for March 22. Grandstand general admission is just $5 for both Enduros.

Evergreen Raceway, a 1/3-mile paved oval in St. Johns, Butler Township, Luzerne County, hosts motorsports events from February to November, making it a top entertainment choice in Northeast Pennsylvania.
